The cab stopped in front of a small pub, wasn't exactly what I was thinking but it'll do. It was surprisingly busy but not overwhelmingly busy. it was perfect in that sense. I made my way over to the bar.

I plopped into the stool and waved down the bartender, "Can I get a Manhattan...bourbon, not whiskey and I want the orange peel rimmed on the glass and three cherries" I requested.

The barman was young and handsome, he nodded and began to make my drink. I watched to make sure he made it just the way I liked and surprisingly it was perfect. He placed the drink in front of me and smiled.

"Thank you" I said shyly. I could feel my gaze begin to go doe eyed. He just nodded and helped the next customer.

I rolled my eyes and picked at the cherries with a toothpick. I guess making friends here is going to be harder than I thought with the language barrier. I was ignorant to learning any language. I had the bad habit of losing interest when I don't get it right away.

Just then I noticed the barstool next to me being sat in. I kept my face forward but tried to check out the person next to me in the mirror behind the display of bottles. It was hard to see but I could make out a black bandana. I felt my stomach flutter  a bit as I glanced over.

"I'll get another of whatever she's having and I'll get a whiskey.. neat"

I turned to see Tom grinning at me, at this point I was already a few sips in and the booze was starting to get to me. I snorted a bit and grimaced at my drink.

"What? No comment?" He muttered

"No comment" i hissed

Our drinks now placed in front of us. I slammed back my first drink and grabbed the second. We sat in silence for a bit, I played with the orange peel running it around the rim of my glass then moved on to slowly biting into the cherries. I could feel toms eyes on me but I paid no attention. I was now really feeling the alcohol.

I licked the rim and took a sip. I sighed loudly before turning to Tom, now annoyed he hasn't gotten the hint to leave me alone.

"You're ruining my chances of meeting someone new" i huffed.

"That's the point" he snarled.

I glared at him before turning back to face the front, I finished my drink quickly and took a second to plan my next move. I knew if he managed to follow me here I had to escape sneakily.

I got up from my seat and watched toms eyes narrow.

"Where do you think you're going?" His voice firm and demanding.

"I think I'm going to the little girls room.. I don't think I need permission to do so" I spoke with sass and attitude. The same tone that made my mother instantly whip her slipper at me when I used it.

Tom got up from his chair and began to follow me. I continued walking until I got to the door then turned to him and crossed my arms.

"Okay are you a peeping Tom or something?" I grunted until I realized what I had just said.

I bursted out in laughter  hiding my mouth with my hand. "Okay that was a good one admit it" I joked

He seemed unimpressed and still kept his cool yet stern face on. He was killing my buzz.

"Okay well... are you just going to stand there and stalk me ? like you're starting to creep me out" I asked.

He eyed me up and down then nodded and went to lean against the side wall before the bathroom entrance.

I opened the door and pushed it shut behind me. I took a deep breath and looked into the mirror.

"Ok ok pull yourself together Tully figure it the fuck out" I whispered to myself and began to pace. I entered the one stall and slammed it hard to prove i was indeed using the bathroom.
