It had been a couple of weeks since the nightmare and you'd officially become the longest surviving intern at The House of Baroness. Sadly enough, so had Claudia. You wished and expected that the Baroness would have gotten rid of her by now. Their thin temper's meant that any interaction between the two of them was skating on very thin ice. But she had talent. Sucky as it was, she had talent and the Baroness wouldn't ignore that.
You hadn't slept, again. Last night was awful, again.
"Claudia, could you get me some tea?" Asked the Baroness the second you walked in. The two of you were under her wing, yes, but you also served as errand boys for the Baroness. Killing two birds with one stone. "Yes ma'am."
And then there were two.
The Baroness stared at you with her crisp blue eyes and demanded you, "Sit." You complied, always comply when it comes to the Baroness.
"What's the matter Y/N? You look as though you've been crying." Shit. Acts up. "Oh, do I?" You replied. "Don't play dumb with me. I want to know what is wrong." She stated, in a matter of fact tone. She knew and there was no point lying. "I'm sorry Baroness, there's just a bit of turbulence in my personal life. I shouldn't have brought it into the workplace. It's not important." Blatant lie there.
The Baroness scowls. "Well it must be. You look like you haven't slept! Are you going to talk to me?" She barked. "I- I've been evicted, if you must know! No notice, no nothing! I'm homeless!" You shouted in reply. The Baroness pauses. People don't raise their voices at her.
You expected her to explode, fire you and make your life hell, but no. She sighs and tuts, "That just won't do will it."
"You need a place to stay, you said?" She asked. You nodded, ashamed. "I've got hundreds of spare rooms darling, would that be of any help to you, darling?" She asked. "Oh- no- you don't have to trouble yourself-" you stuttered. You would benefit greatly from her help, but you didn't want to tempt those devilish thoughts. "You wouldn't be trouble in the slightest!" She promised. "Thank you Baroness."
You replied. There was no way that you would fight what little generosity you cracked out of this woman. "Then that settles it. Have a rest over there, you need your beauty sleep."Claudia came in and gave the Baroness her tea. "Thank you Vixen. I'll see you back in here for the meeting at 11:30. Feel free to work on that model or whatever!" She dismissed. "Yes, ma'am." She groaned. Was Claudia jealous that you were with the Baroness? It couldn't be. They hate one another.
Just stop it Y/N. You have to sleep.
The soft groan of delight that the Baroness gave out after a sip of tea covered you in goosebumps...
