Artie hugged John from behind. "Hello beautiful boy." He rested his flamboyant hair in John's neck. "Who died?" He whispered, looking at you and the Baroness, who were screaming at one another. "My sanity." John replied.
"Be careful!" You shouted. Victoria was stumbling, the drugs still making her weak, but she had been fussy in the car on the way home. "SHUT UP Y/N!" She screamed back. "Mummy and Daddy are fighting!" Artie replied in a desperate ploy to lighten the mood and ease the tension.
You followed the Baroness, who was smashing anything she could get her hands on. A large and expensive vase shattered, chunks narrowly missing your eyes and nearly hitting a maid.
"Good luck Miss Y/N." She mumbled.
"What the hell was all of that for!" You screamed, slamming the bedroom door behind you. Victoria didn't let you see her jump. "You're being an obnoxious brat Y/N!" She hissed back. You had a good mind to tell her who was the obnoxious and bratty one, but you thought better of it. "Just because I'm trying to convince that your Baron bullshit is bullshit?" You asked, condescendingly and accusatory.
"YOU ABANDONED ME!"
Balling up your fists or hinting violence at all would be the stupidest thing to do. "I didn't abandon you! You knew I was taking a shower-" "Another excuse I see!" She quipped. "I'm not huge fan of that attitude Victoria. You know full well that I'm not making excuses." Outside of sex, you knew not to demean Victoria, but her actions were beyond an excusable amount of childishness. "What. Like the phone call?"
"Oh. You think I wanted you to get raped, do you?"
"When you leave, the bad things seem to happen on cue!"
"Are you accusing me of being involved in all of this?"
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." Her ambiguous tone was dripping with condescension. Fighting her and her drug fuelled claims wasn't worth it, so you took your pyjamas and Vicky Kitty and walked out.
Or at least you tried to.
Victoria was having none of it.
"What are you doing?" She asked. "Do you want me here or not?" You replied, holding back tears. "Pardon me?" "You think I'm some bitch who likes to hurt people. You obviously don't want me here tonight." You replied, your voice simultaneously icy cold and shattering in her spoiled hurricane. "So if you'll excuse me-"
"Bad things will happen if you leave-"
"You want me here?" False hope...
"But my life was pretty crappy before you came along. Maybe I'll get my life back if you go..."
You couldn't go back to your old room, seeing as that was Estella's space now. With a heavy heart, laced with utter betrayal and tears, you threw your head into the pillow.
The cat's embroidered eyes gave you a tiny pang of sympathy. You stared silently at her work. It wasn't perfect fashion, it wasn't gorgeously done, but it was done with love. She didn't want to give you that love? That was fine. You had enough to get a hotel room and get your affairs together.
"What?"
Vicky Kitty stared at you, stopping your overdramatic train of thought. "You're right. I should calm down." You mumbled.
"Take care of the ring will you?"
"I'm not sure if she wants me to have that anymore..."
