"Victoria!" Called a voice. Miranda walked towards the baroness, with a much needed friendly smile.

"It is lovely to see you!" Miranda chirped, brightly

"It is lovely to see you!" Miranda chirped, brightly. "Likewise, Miranda." Victoria smiled. Since she wasn't hovering alone, it felt a million times easier to walk into the event. Miranda wouldn't stay for long, but as long as she passed the threshold, she would be okay.

Yvette and Victoria locked eyes and every bit of pride she had in herself evaporated.

Through murmured hellos, Victoria looked at the tables for her name. Hundreds of names flowed through her head. Sarah, Harmony, Elizabeth H, Lauren, Elizabeth G. Victoria had been fooled by several Victoria's on her desperate hunt to safety.

Said hunt was unsuccessful.

Elizabeth Fitzgerald (nee. King)

Agatha Hardgreaves

Pheobe Munro

Miranda Priestly

Yvette Swan

Victoria Von Hellman (nee. Quince)

Victoria felt ill. Luckily, they'd only have to properly sit together for the head girls speech. Unluckily, Elizabeth was head girl.

"I do believe that putting my daughter in such a position would cause accusations of familial bias, so, I would be honoured to offer you the role of head girl." Hardgreaves let out a smile. Elizabeth gasped. "Oh thank you!" She gushed. "Agatha is deputy head girl."  The headmistress added. "I couldn't have picked better myself."

Being a head girl tied her to the broodmare fate too.

Milo loved Elizabeth, which made him blind to her shortcomings. Her greed and her pride. Her jealousy and her laziness. Her manipulative, selfish attitude towards anyone and everyone.

She deserved Hans but that's not to say Victoria deserved Milo. You were her love. Her only love.

Yvette to the left of her, which would be hell on earth. Miranda was to the right of her, which was by far the better option. Elizabeth would be opposite her, which would be least tolerable of all. Made worse with the recent predicaments.

"Lord help me." Victoria muttered, walking towards the buffet. Several waiters in black tie hovered. One, a small blonde greeted the Baroness. A small blonde she recognised. A certain dough making friend of yours.

Maddie!

"Baroness Von Hellman! It is a pleasure." She smiled offering her hand. "Likewise Madeline!"  Victoria said, with her last joy filled smile of the night. Madeline paused. The Baroness hadn't looked down at the name badge. Was it her heels? Her remarkable height? Had you mentioned her to your beloved partner?

"I believe you know a friend of mine." I believe you are railing a friend of mine was what she wanted to say. "Calling Y/N a friend is an understatement!" Victoria laughed. "If I may, where is she?" Maddie asked, looking around. "At home, in bed I should hope. She's caught something." Victoria replied. "I think it's going around." "Oh I hope not!"

A question burned up in Victoria's throat, but the announcement of Elizabeth's speech dragged her to her table.

"Good evening ladies!" Ah, a speech of several lies, how fun! It was far from a good evening and there was a sense that it was all due to get worse...
