"I would love to dance." Victoria whispered into your ear. "Would you prefer to lead or should I?" She asked. You softly placed your hand on her waist and smiled. "I'll lead." You stated, confidently. Taking his cue, John began to play. It was a beautiful, angelic classical piece, which was very Vic, and it was a slow song. You've got this Y/N! Just be confident and for fucks sake DO NOT step on her feet!
Step, two, three.
Step, two three.
Step.
Two.
Three.
You were pleasantly surprised at your dancing, mostly because it wasn't abysmal as it usually seemed to be. The alcohol that had usually made you drunk had now made you bold.
Victoria was by far the most amazing dancer you'd ever met; you'd spent an evening or two with her messing about in here. Dancing with her right here right now made you feel alive. Seeing her show her any type of weakness to you always made you feel ethereal, but having her place her confidence in you brought new levels of joy and pride into your bloodstream.
"You are doing amazing!"
Victoria was grinning and shining. She'd danced with you before, many a time, but you knew that there was a difference in your dancing tonight. She could also see it and she was ever so proud of it.
You don't usually dance for two reasons.
1: You can't dance very well
2: She used to dance with you
Your leavers ball, at the end of secondary school, was one of the worst nights of your life, ever. They fed you absolute crap, every single conversation that night felt forced and Gabrielle, your first girlfriend, had made everything more awful then you needed.
Why oh why did you HAVE to fall for Ms Finch?
"Dance with me Y/N." She commanded, staring coldly and pouting at you. "I can't, there are people here." You begged, nervously. Her voice was slightly slurred. She wasn't very easy to negotiate with when her voice was slurred. When she was drunk. She'd had a drink or two before you came and you saw that she had a pint at the bar. "You are such a little brat sometimes! I don't know why I'm still with you. Just dance like no one's here! I want to dance!" She barked, angry. Maddie shot you a reassuring smile. A smile wouldn't get you out of this.
To 'Dance like no one's watching' is only an easy task to preform if you are two things: pretty and popular. If you aren't both, it's worthless. Everyone gives you dirty looks and you can feel every eyeball create thousands of goosebumps. Then you can never live it down.
You snapped back just in time for the crescendo of John's piece. Whipping your lady around made you calm and relaxed again. Victoria was everything Gabrielle was not.
"Oh that was amazing!" She laughed, richly. The queen of fashion hugged you, proudly. "You are the best!" She smiled, before massaging her back.
"I'm going to ask Maria to run me a bath! Y/N, do come up in a bit!"
John stood next to you. "What that translates to is: I'm going to go upstairs and silently scream about my amazing girlfriend." He teased. "By the way Y/N, thank you very much for the portion of pasta, it was ever so considerate of you." He smiled, graciously. "No problem." You smiled. He did so much to help make tonight perfect, it was the least you could do. For the sake of the British society as the Baroness would say!
You played a few notes on the piano to stall going to see Victoria.
You couldn't really do anything sexual, you'd just come on your period.
As per usual, awful timing!
Eventually you traversed the manor to meet Victoria. You saw the portraits of the Hellmans as they followed you with their hyper realistic eyes. Victoria watched over you. Hans glared. The secrets that lay under these floorboards excited and scared you simultaneously. What else was Victoria yet to tell you? What more secrets could the house hold?
"Hello love, care to join me?" Victoria purred, her robe dropping against the tiles.
"No. I can't..."
