Tiana from "Princess and the Frog" Part Two

Darkness was all that [Name] saw. She wanted to move but she felt like she couldn't. [Name] was breathing slowly through her nose and out her mouth while she tried to get in touch with her other senses. There was silence except for the sound of birds that were outside your window. The more you concentrated the more that you were beginning to wake up. The minute that her  eyes opened she was hit with a bright light that made her eyes sore. She then cautiously sat up in her bed and relentlessly rubbed her eyes until they pain went away.  The only person that was present in her room was a servant. The servant saw that [Name] tried to get up and told her to lay back down so that way they can notify her parents that she was awake.  After they immediately left the room she just sat there with a pissed off expression on she face. How could her parents do this to her? [Name] kept thinking of things that she could've possibly done and concluded that she had done nothing wrong. She couldn't find any other reason that made them  want to send her off to the Americas with Naveen.  He was the one with the spending problems anyway. What made her parents think that she needed to go to America as well? Why did they want her to leave her home so bad and basically babysit her brother? And what good would it do when [Name] and Naveen got to America? For all she knew, [Name] was just going to follow her brother around and basically help Lawrence pick up after his schemes.  He's gonna figure out a way that can get him the fastest money. He was not above pimping himself out just to have a couple hundred dollars. 

As [Name] was contemplating why she had to endure such an unfair punishment from her parents a knock on the door was heard.  That knock broke [Name] out of her thoughts and she didn't dare speak as her parents came in. The way she was glaring at her parents would make one believe that she was trying to kill them with her mind. Her parents sighed in relief and immediately went to her bed and held her hands. Her mother took her left hand and her father took her right. [Name] sat up more in bed and glared at the two of them. 

"Whatever you have to say to me is pointless. You already said enough when you said that I was going to the Americas with Naveen" [Name] huffs and looks away from them. Her parents frown at her but dismissed her attitude since she did just wake up after passing out in front of them. Her mother then tried to speak in a soft tone.

"We are only trying to do what's best for you sweetheart. Think of all the knowledge you can learn about while you stay there. And who knows? Maybe there will be someone out there that might fall in love with you" her mother suggests. 

"It still doesn't negate the fact that I'm basically going to be playing babysitter along with Lawrence because your son doesn't know how to act in public" she huffs again. 

"We know that this is a big ask of you but we want to make sure that Naveen does what he needs to and we can't trust anyone else besides you and Lawrence. Can you at least give it a chance butterfly?" her father pleads to [Name]. He wouldn't be serious until he used her childhood nickname which immediately made her crumble. [Name] knew that they weren't going to change their minds, so she just nodded her head and just stared out the window.  She had to accept defeat, but that never meant that she was going to enjoy her trip to the Americas. 

~time skip a week later~ 

Naveen and [Name] were walking around the lively city of New Orleans, Louisiana. It didn't come as a shock to [Name] that they were going to this city. To her the city represented the vices of her brother. Drinking, partying, women, and most of all money. In a way she was a little happy to be there as it was a sight to behold. [Name] and Lawrence were walking behind Naveen as he used his ukulele and was wooing women that walked by him. They both walked in a comfortable silence as her brother was flirting with ever single woman that walked by him. Some even tried to follow him as he walked by a band playing in front of Duke's café, accidentally knocking into a woman who was just trying to do her job. [Name] scowled as her brother didn't even bother to apologize or help the woman out and decided to walk up to her. 

"I apologize for my brother. He can be a bit of a pompous ass. Do you need help?" [name] asks as she starts to help out the woman in front of her, who turns out to be Tiana. 

"Is he always like that?" Tiana asks. She knew that Naveen was coming because of her best friend Charlotte but she didn't know that his sister was tagging along. 

"Unfortunately that's how he is every day. I'm [Name] by the way" [name} replies and the opened the door to Duke's Café so Tiana can go in and get her stuff settled. Tiana thanked her as she walked in and [Name] decided to sit at the bar so she can be closer to Tiana. She grabbed a menu and looked at everything and sat there in thought as Tiana walked up to her. [Name] was spooked and a blush came across her face as she stared at Tiana. 

"Since you were nice enough to help me out, get whatever you want. My treat" Tiana says as she starts to clean around before Charlotte came back. [Name] was shy but she eventually ordered the beignets because she never tried them and apparently they were homemade. Once she received the delicious treat [Name] just sat there and quietly ate them as Charlotte came into the restaurant and was shocked to see her there. Tiana then walked up to [Name] as she was eating. 

"So? How are they?" Tiana asks while [Name] was eating. With a deep blush crawling across her cheeks [Name] complimented on how good they were and asked where to get more. Tiana, being the bold woman that she was, decided to tease her. 

"Well you can always come to my friend's party for your brother. I'll have plenty of them there" Tiana says with a small smile, finding it cute that she managed to make a princess blush. 

"W-will you be there?" [name] asks which causes Tiana to start blushing and nod her head. They just kept staring at each other in silence before Lawrence busted into the café and was relieved to see [name] there. he quickly told her to hurry up so that way he couldn't lose track of Naveen. With a sigh, [Name] put a small wad of cash near her empty plate and shyly waved at Tiana before leaving. She instantly felt bad for the fact that she had to leave but at least she had the opportunity to see her at the party....
