Chapter 46

"Domain Expansion: Curse of Thorns,"

I curse angrily under my breath as a waterfall of black roses creates an alien terrain around me. Then I look around.

The first thing I notice is that the entire space is made of black roses, each full of Cursed Energy. I feel my posture tighten, and my hand flinches toward the gun in my pocket. Before I could fully register what has happened, a black rose flies towards me at lightning speed, and I instinctively raise my arms. Before I could even flinch, the flower pierces through my arm and stops right in front of my wide eyes. In a split second, I feel the sharp thorns of the rose sink into my skin and muscle, making my arm feel weak.

Blood pours down my skin, covering my hand, wrist, and arm in the red liquid. Then the Cursed Spirit appears in front of me.

"How it feel?" She asks, her English not quite perfect. She smirks as blood starts to pool underneath my feet.

"Good," I answer as calmly as possible, taking out the rose with a slight shudder. I realize with a small sigh that the thorns are still in my skin, probably detached from the stem. Cautiously, I move my arm up and down once, then side to side. The thorns sting my muscles whenever I move, causing more blood to leak out.

I prevent the opened wound from healing, as it would be harder to take out the thorns.

"#($*^!&!" The Spirit shouts at me again, suddenly looking angry.

I sigh, "Again, I don't understand-"

"#($&*^#$(!!!"

"F*cking..." I mutter quietly, glaring at the still-shouting Spirit. I try reading its mind again.

[I hate you! You fault!]_Spirit

I quickly back off her raging mind, noticing that I can read her mind now. Suddenly, a second wave of roses pierces through the tense atmosphere toward me again. Except, this time, I'm trapped. I realize with a small flinch that the flowers a coming in all directions, leaving me surrounded by her attacks. So I do the only thing I can think of.

"Jutsushiki Hanten," I focus on the Curse Energy flowing through my body, and after feeling the weak Infinity around me, I notice the slight tension between the air beginning the form.

"Aka,"

Despite my worries about failing the Cursed Technique, a small glow forms at the base of my palms, unlike Gojo-sensei, who has enough Cursed Energy to sustain the immense amount of power on his fingertips.

The red sphere of positive Cursed Energy grows brighter and brighter. The Cursed Spirit looks at me with wide, frightened eyes. I smirk a bit at her reaction, my smile growing bigger.

Just as the roses rocket down on me, the now-white ball of light sparks, slightly blinding me. When my eyes adjust to the light again, the first thing I realize is that I'm injury-free. I also notice the Cursed Spirit on the floor, looking half dead by now. Then, when I look down at my arms, I see that the previous wound has healed.

"F*ck," I grumble out loud. How was I supposed to take out the thorns now? Sighing, I walk towards the Cursed Spirit. I need to finish it off. However, the Spirit has already finished regenerating broken parts of her body.

As if this wasn't enough, the scar on my neck rips the tiniest bit, and blood pours out from the small wound. I sense Itami trying to come out. Not wanting to deal with a second Cursed Spirit, I concentrate some Cursed Energy on blocking him.

A third wave of rose attacks starts, and I'm forced to defend myself again. Fighting through the endless hails of sharp thorns, I try to form a new plan. The Spirit wasn't going to die anytime soon at this rate.

While continuously trying to counter the attack and getting even more thorns stuck in my body, I try to remember what Gojo-sensei told me about domain expansions.

'The attack won't miss. You have to counter it with Cursed Energy reinforcement,'

Already doing this.

'You can also break the domain, but this one's harder. I don't really recommend this method,'

Looking at the walls covered with thorns, I know that's probably not the best idea here.

'And there's the simple way of just killing the Spirit who set up the domain. But, like the other methods, it'll be harder while you're in their domain,'
