Ieiri-san eventually did teach me how to contain Itami inside of me. On the first day, I made her a bit annoyed, and she gave up. She called Gojo-sensei over to teach me instead of her doing the work, but was just laughed at.
"You said yes to it," Gojo-sensei had said, "So it's your work," Then the smack came. Although his Limitless stopped it, it was satisfying to watch.
After that, for the next few days, Ieiri-san didn't show much anger or annoyance on her face anymore. But her mind was filled to the brim with swears. Well... she's a good actor.
On like the 3rd day, I finally managed to control Itami's trips in and out of me. Ieiri-san had finally shown me a smile. A real smile. I think we got a little closer. Her mind's a little less angry now.
"Congratulations!" Gojo-sensei suddenly says from behind me. I flinch in surprise.
He then looks at Ieiri-san and says, "Nice work, although I could have done it faster," Ieiri-san growls under her breath, shooting him an angered glare. She can be scary sometimes.
"Now, I have something for you to do," Gojo-sensei turns to look at me, pointing a finger.
"Go train?" I guess, shrugging my shoulders.
"Nope," He answers, "I need you to go to your room and..." He pauses, and I nod impatiently.
"And sleep," He finishes with a pat on my head.
"Wait, what?" That was not the expected answer.
"You heard me right," He turns around, "You haven't slept for the whole time you were here," Hmm. True. BUT, I'm not tired. Training a day faster would only shorten the number of days I have left until I can go kill more Cursed Spirits.
"But-" I start to protest.
"But, but, but. No buts," Gojo-sensei says, "Just go, it's good for your health anyways," Ieiri-san nods along. It's a rare moment that the two are agreeing with each other.
"Fine," I say, walking out the door, "And thanks, Ieiri-san," She waves a hand at me. I make my way down the hall, and into my room. I give out a small sigh but head toward the bed. I must have been more tired than I thought because I fell asleep almost immediately.
Time Skip
"Haneki? Mom? Dad? Natsuki?" Hakuto's voice makes his way over to my ears, and I rise slowly. My hand is in the front pocket of my hoodie. There is a small bulge in the pocket; something's inside.
"Hakuto?" I'm taking small steps, looking cautious and careful. Hakuto's face brightens up as he sees me.
"Haneki!" Hakuto hugs me, a big smile stuck to his face. I hug him back, my head buried in his arms. I'm also smiling, but I don't look happy. The corners of my mouth is pulled up only slightly, and my eyebrows aren't raised up. My eyes look dead; unfocused, but I'm looking up at Hakuto.
"How are you?" Hakuto asks, his arms still in an embrace.
"Good," I simply answer, gripping on the object in my pocket. My hand slowly slides out, clutching on something: A knife. The blade is clean and shiny, the room reflects on the surface. The tip is razor-sharp, like a wasp's stinger. A tiny slash could easily pull blood.
"Hakuto," I suddenly say.
"Yeah?"
"Any last words?" My face is expressionless, and the grip on the knife handle gets tighter.
Hakuto looks confused, "Hm? What do you-" His words get lost as the blade plunges into his stomach. Deeply and roughly.
"Kah!" He coughs out blood, and it lands all over my face. I don't bother wiping it away. The knife has completely pierced him, the blade visible from the other side. Blood is dripping down his mouth and stomach, a pond of red forming beneath his feet. I swiftly take the knife out, and stab him again. Again. And again. By the time I stopped, he's long dead. His eyes are rolled back, showing nothing except emptiness. A waterfall of blood still streams down his half-closed mouth, staining is white shirt red. There is a long hole in his stomach, just above his hips. Parts of his intestine dangles out, a few chopped up pieces laying untouched on the wet ground.
"Nice work," I tell myself, starting to lean down onto my dead brother. My head gets closer to his wound, my smile growing bigger. My tongue greets it first, a small lick on the blood. My eyes widen as I swallow, looking astonished. Then I bite.
"...!" I jolt awake, sweat pouring down my back and neck.
"What the f*ck?" I whisper, looking around, "I- I just... killed Hakuto..." My eyes dart around the room, trying to process what I just dreamed.
"F*cking dreams..." I mutter, but I sound more nervous and scared than angry. The dream was just too real. Maybe that's what really happened. The dead body slumping against me, the blood on my hands. It makes sense.
"Stupid b*tch," I hit myself in the head once. It's just a dream. No need to put meaning into it. I didn't kill Hakuto. Itami did. The dream isn't real. It's just a dream. I didn't kill him.
"Or did I...?" I wonder aloud.
