Devale
"Okay so who all is going to be at this dinner?" I ask as Crystal and I walked down the aisle of Walmart.
"Us, my mom and mom, and my my friend Megan." She said softly.
I looked at her face. "Why you look like that? Like you don't even want them here?"
"I'm not saying that but I can do without seeing my parents right now." She said shaking her head.
"You're just saying that because you haven't told them about me or you being pregnant." I scoffed.
I don't know why but ever time Crystal has brought up her parents she always says things that makes me feel like they don't have the best relationship. Something tells me that she's borderline scared of them. I don't live my life like that. My parents aren't too judge mental but if her parents are then they might as well not come inside of my house.
"Babe why don't we just go out to eat so that you don't have to stand on your feet trying to cook for everyone?" I suggests.
"Devale I'm pregnant not handicapped." She said shaking her head.
"Same difference. You don't need to be on your feet and you don't need to be stressed out. Let's just go to a nice restaurant."
"And risk my parents causing a scene when they find out I'm pregnant and not even close to be being married to the man I'm having three kids with? Yeah right." She scoffed as she walked away from me.
Her parents aren't even here yet and they are already stressing her out. Crystal is healthy but I don't want her risking anything for a stupid dinner. It's not serious. When she met my parents we weren't even together but they still liked her and accepted her. Hopefully, her mom and dad can past the fact that she's pregnant and accept our relationship for what it is.
"Baby I am more worried about them finding out I'm pregnant than them not liking you." Crystal finally admitted.
"So what you're pregnant? You're also grown-"
"And not married." She said shaking her head. "My parents are Christians Devale."
"Christians or Bible thumpers?" I ask raising my eyebrows.
"Do not call my parents Bible thumpers." Crystal said. "Ou strawberries!" She said changing the subject.
"So you think they're gonna like me?" I ask her.
"Baby you have nothing to worry about I promise you. All their issues are gonna be directed towards me." Crystal sighs out.
I shake my head. "I got your back okay?" I say grabbing her hand.
"Yeah I know." Crystal said nodding her head.
She smiled softly and continued walking down the grocery store aisle.
Crystal
When Devale and I got back to his apartment, I made it my nightly task to finish cleaning up. Sometimes I overdo it when I'm stressed. But, his apartment did a need a little cleaning up. I haven't spoken to Megan since she got in town, so I don't know if Shemar is here or not. Hopefully, Megan told him to go back to Los Angeles. I don't need anymore drama than what my parents are about to bring.
I don't think Devale wants to have this dinner but my parents are coming into town and once they see my belly I'm gonna have some explaining to do. Devale is always saying he'll to whatever to have me and that he has my back, so now is his chance to really prove it.
