"How was your 'coffee break'?" Zena asked Crystal as soon as she walked back into the doors of the icu.
Crystal looked around and squinted. "Why are you saying it like that?" She asked chuckling.
"I mean keep it real. Did y'all really go get coffee?" She asked me.
"Is thah any of your business?" She asks her. "You know what, where's your boyfriend and his girlfriend?" Crystal asked throwing slight shade at the receptionist.
Zena sarcastically gasped with her hand on her chest. "You shady bitch... I like you." She said sitting down in her chair. "If you must know, he's still in surgery and she hasn't come into work today. At all." She said.
"Does she always call off?" Crystal asked Zena.
"No and that's making me suspicious. What if she's pregnant?" She asked leaning over the desk.
Crystal just shook her head and laughed.
"I'm back." Dr. Whitfield announced snatching her gloves off.
"Where'd you go?" Crystal asked.
"To assist in a surgery." Lynn told her. "How'd everyone treating you?" She asked Crystal.
"Good. They've all been very welcoming. Dr. Ellis and I just grabbed coffee together-"
"Yeah they grabbed coffee together." Zena repeated as her phone rang.
"Girl shut up and mind your business." Lynn said as she pointed to the ringing phone. "I hired you to work. Not to get into peoples lives." She said.
"That's what I do better than anything." Zena said picking the phone up. "St. Joseph hospital how can I help you?"
Lynn tapped Crystal on the shoulder and waved her over. "Dr. Glover's birthday is today and although he hates surprises, I am throwing him a surprise party. You're more than welcome to come. It would be a great chance to get to know everybody." She encouraged Crystal.
Crdytal smiled widely and nodded her head. "I would love to come. But why would you throw a surprise party for someone who hates surprises?" She asked giggling.
"Because it's funny. Watching him get mad. He's an old grumpy man." Lynn said. "Follow me, I'll show you around some more-"
"Dr. Whitfield those papers you wanted me to file are on your desk. I'm going on break-"
