"Dr. Ellis when I can go home?" My nine year old patient Xavier ask as he propped himself up.
"A few days after your surgery! I promise." I say nodding my head.
"Okay and what happened to that cute lady doctor?" He asked making me laugh a little bit.
"Dr. London is checking on some of her other patients but I'll make sure she comes and gives you a visit." I tell him.
"Okay cool!" He said.
I waved one last time before I walked out.
I checked my watch and it was almost time for me to swap out with Lauren. She's been taking care of the patients we've already operated on and I've been doing most of the prepping and beforehand stuff. We've been working great together. Our communication could be a little better but that's just because we don't talk at all. We still have talked about Jayla. We found her a daycare a few minutes away from the hospital but it's not really my thing. I don't trust daycares. I didn't wanna risk anybody hurting my baby girl.
"Good afternoon Dr. Ellis." I hear from behind me.
I turn around and see Novi standing with a big smile on her face.
"What's up?"
"How's your baby mama?" She asked me batting her eyelashes.
"Who are you talking about?" I ask raising my eyebrows.
"Crystal of course. Congratulations." She said moving her shoulders.
I chuckle and shake my head. "Thanks but she's not my baby mama. She's my girlfriend." I correct her. "And she happens to be with child." I say to her.
"I think you're gonna be great parents." She said nodding her head.
"Thank you. She's more nervous than I am." I partially lie.
I don't know who's more nervous, but we're both stressed. Crystal got sent home yesterday after she got released. She's been staying at my place. I live closer to the hospital and I wanna be able to get to her faster in case something happens to her. She has me and Dr. Long on speed dial in case she needs anything.
We are both terrified about having triplets. I already have one daughter and now I'm going to have four kids. This is ghetto. If I would've known that Crystal would've been able to conceive triplets, I would have used a condom. One baby, okay, but three? That is just mind blowing to me.
"If you need help with anything just let me know. Tessa and I miss being around babies so much, our daughter is literally about to be a second grader." Novi said shaking her head.
"Damn, time is flying." I said shaking my head.
"Tell me about it." Novi said. "Luckily, she has agreed to move back in with me." She announced.
