i got up from my nap and saw magnus in the hall. alec walked by.
magnus "on a scale of one to ten..."
magnus "how unpleasant was it?"
alec "off the charts."

alec "yeah, i've never seen them so angry."
magnus "just give them some time."
alec "you're immortal."
alec "time is on your side."
alec "after what i did..."
alec "i don't think they'll ever forgive me."

magnus "don't underestimate a parent's love."
magnus "you don't regret it, do you?"
alec "everything happened so fast."
alec "i didn't have time to think."
alec "i just wanna make sure lydia's okay."

alec "now i owe her so much."
magnus "we owe her."
i walked out of the shadows.
me "me too."
magnus "don't do that you scared me."

magnus "what she did was nothing short of heroic."
magnus "hey, look, maybe we can slow things down?"
magnus "why don't we start with that date you owe me?"
alec "yeah, let's do that."

magnus "i know this great ethiopian place on 44th--"
alec opened the door to the office and saw lydia on the floor.
alec "lydia!"
we all ran up to her.
alec "go get help."
me and magnus left to get help.

we were by the computers while izzy looked for the footage for the room.
clary "how's lydia?"
alec "better."
alec "magnus is doing what he can to help her, but it's bad."
alec "and the cup is definitely missing."

jace "so is hodge."
izzy "maybe he was attacked, too."
clary "maybe he's the one who attacked her."
izzy "hodge?"
izzy "no way."
izzy "we're known him our entire lives."

izzy "he would never do that to us."
on the computer it showed hodge hitting lydia and takeing the cup.
jace "i led him right to the cup."
alec "we treated him like family."

alec "how could he do this to us?"
clary "that's how."
clary "what is that ring?"
izzy "looks like he's talking to someone."
jace "and i can bet who it is."
clary "valentine."

alec "well, that explains how he deactivated the punishment rune, but it doesn't explain where he got the ring."
clary "you think someone smuggled it past the wards?"

jace "maybe."
jace "hodge wasn't the only ex-circle member around here."
izzy "look, i know i don't always see eye to eye with my parents, but i know they're not traitors."
