clary "we'll wait here."
jace "it sounded boring anyway."
me "it was boring."
we both high five each other.

clary "i've got a bad feeling about this."
me "for the first time i agree with you."
clary "what is taking him so long?"
jace "i know a way we could find out."
jace "just go in and see for ourselves."

clary "luke told us to stay put, so that's what we're gonna do."
me "wow following the rules."
clary "that's probably him now."

he was walking with handcuffs on. two men where walking behind him.

jace "i doubt it."
jace "just so i'm clear, he did mention something about trying to avoid attention, right?"
jace "from the looks of it, he's doing a terrible job."

clary "circle members?"
jace "no, mundanes. internal affairs officers."
clary "you can tell all that just by looking at them?"
me "stop flirting."
they both smiled.

jace "i can tell all that by reading their badges."
jace showed off a rune.
jace "better than binoculars."
jace "luke had his chance."
clary "yeah."
me "he didn't get far."

jace "let's go."
clary "okay."
we all ran off.

we all walked into the room where luke is getting questioned.
officer? "garroway"
officer? "coffee?"
luke "no, no, i'm good."
officer? "suit yourself."
luke puts a tissue over his mouth and nose.

luke "camera."
jace looks around him.

clary "luke, what is going on?"
jace disconnect the camera.
luke "i think i'm about to be the prime suspect in a murder investigation."
clary "what do we do?"
luke "get the cards."
luke "in my desk, bottom drawer."
clary "all right."
luke "whoa, whoa, whoa."

luke "you can't glamour yourselves."
luke "i'm not the only downworlder on the force, and we don't know who's working for valentine."
luke "if anyone spots you---"

jace "we'd be leading them right to the mortal cup."
luke "exactly better to assume that everybody has the sight than gamble they don't."

me "do you want me to get you a layer."
luke "don't worry about it."
me "okay."

the door handle rattles.
clary "luke."
luke "i can handle myself."
officer "hey, what happened to the camera?"
we all walk out.
