Rosanna's P. O. V:
"Ava," Dr. Osborne called.
The maid- Ava, walked closer to my side and stood in silence, awaiting the doctor's next orders.
"Please hold Miss Rosanna so she doesn't shake a bit too much."
...Why?
I felt the bed dip and quickly, a figure knelt behind me, warm hands holding unto my shoulders in a slightly loose grip.
Holy-
"It's okay," Ava whispered softly. "Just be calm."
"Dr. Osborne, should I be scared-" This was alarming.
"Not at all. Now please stretch your other hand."
I was already scared.
I turned my head to look at Kairos, sight partially blocled by Ava's slender body.
"Kairos-"
"It won't be that bad."
Is he mimicking Osborne's last deceit?
Surely, I feared for my life right now. Not a single person in this room was trustworthy.
Was this attempted murder and soon to be murder? If I do reincarnate, I'd make needles illegal. This cannot be the cause of my death! But if it does become the cause, a snow white isekai might be preferable.
But never would I have thought I'd make this speech so soon. But somewhere within I always prepared for it. So I said;
"If anything happens to me and I die, please tell Aniysa to find a non psychopathic husband and beware of Karissa's and Elan's bond. And tell her she's allowed to eat my secret chocolate stash inside my secret box. The box is under my bed and the key is in my black denim jacket-- the inner pocket. And she knows the flowers to get for my burial. And my ghost would be pleased if it's a gold colored coffin-- and no I would not like it if Drake attended."
A moment of silence came. A small smile stretched involuntarily at the corner of my lips due to my joke which might as well be a jinx.
Is this considered dark humor if I do actually die?
"That's deep." Kairos commented and Osborne let out a hearty laughter.
I felt my shoulders relax a bit under Ava's skillful maneuver of light massages that eased my mind unconsciously. My tension flew out the window while I waited for Osborne to do the that.
They wouldn't really kill me, would they? No need to take this stress if murder was the goal. I'd be long dead.
The usual prickly pain and stinging sensation came in response to my penetrated and torn skin, as the long needle slid into my veins from the outer layer of my body.
It truly wasn't painful. I just felt a bit of heat travel from my arm to my upper body then to my lower body. The liquid Osborne was injecting in me should be one with a milder reaction. It was better than the first.
But towards the end, a sudden itch emerged and reflexively, I tried to scratch the area which was where the needle was inserted. But thankfully, my hand was gripped by Ava or it'd be a bloody mess. Literally.
But I didn't want to thank Ava.
The itch became unbearable instantly and was so potent I wanted to scratch it regardless of the consequences.
My muscles tensed and Osborne tapped my arm twice, making it hang limply in his hand. A numbing sensation covered the itch and Osborne's little act was like a magician's trick. Quickly, he pressed in the last bit of liquid.
