I just arrived home after a relaxing spa day with Nella. As I walked in, I called out for Niko, but there was no response.

y: Niko! Babe! Are you home?~ I make my way towards the kitchen. In the distance, I could hear faint voices.

y: Hey, what are you guys up to? ~ they both screamed in surprise.
Mealani: Daddy, hide it!
y: Hide what? ~ Niko started walking towards me, hiding my view from seeing it.
Niko: You can't look yet ~ he says playfully.
y: Why not? Baby, Can Mommy take a peek, please? ~ Mealani wagged her finger.
Mealani: No, Mommy, it's a surprise!
y: Fine, I need to check on Zeke anyway. Is he napping right now?
Niko: Yeah, I've been watching him through the baby monitor and checking in on him in person.
y: You're such an amazing father. Alright, I'll find out soon enough what you two are hiding.
Mealani: You're going to love it, Mommy!
y: Hmm, okay! ~ I say walking away.

Stepping into Zeke's room, I walked over to his crib, and he slowly opened his eyes.
y: Hi, handsome! ~ a smile forming on my face. He sat up and reached out his hand, and I lifted him up.
y: Let's get you changed

as I changed him into cleaner clothes. Engaging in conversation, I wondered aloud
y: Do you know what Mea and Daddy are up to? ~ His eyes lit up at the mention of "Daddy."
y: So you do? You're so cute! ~ I exclaimed, gently tickling him. Once I finished buttoning the last button, Mealani entered the room.
Mealani: Mommy, come outside now! ~ she giggled and ran away.
y: Come on, let's see what they're up to ~ I said, picking up Zeke and heading towards the kitchen.

As I walked into the kitchen, I couldn't contain my excitement.
y: Oh my gosh, you guys!
Niko&Mea: Happy birthday! ~ Tears welled up in my eyes.
Mealani: Mommy, you don't like it?
y: No, baby, they're happy tears ~ I reassured her. She comes towards me and hugs my legs.

Niko walked up beside me, taking Zeke from my arms. I picked up Mealani, and she cupped my cheeks with her tiny hands.
Mealani: My beautiful mommy. I love you
y: I love you too ~ I plant a kiss on her cheek.
Mealani: Do you like it? ~ she says grinning.
y: Of course I do! Thank you, my love ~ Setting Mealani down, I walked towards Niko and gave him a gentle peck on the lips.
y: Thank you, babe. I love you.
Niko: I love you too.
Mealani: Make a wish, Mommy!
y: okay. ~ closing my eyes and feeling the warmth of the moment enveloping me. Taking a deep breath, I blew out the candles on the birthday cake.

Mealani clapped her hands excitedly, her eyes sparkling with joy.
Mealani: Did you make a good wish, Mommy?
y: Yes, I made the best wish
