Love in silence

*Doorbell rings.*

I open my door and see Sharky, a smile spreading across my face. We embrace in a
hug, and I invite him inside.

y/n: Hey! What brings you here? ~ We both sat down on the couch.

Sharky: Well, you know, you're my best friend, and I need your advice on something. ~He says a bit nervous.

y/n: Of course! You can always count on me. What's on your mind?

Sharky: Okay, so there's this girl I really like, and I want to ask her out, but I'm not sure how to do it. ~His eyes meet mine, and I can't help but wonder if he's talking about me. But I try not to get my hopes up.

y/n: Well, my advice would be to pay attention to the little details about her. Find out what she likes to do in her free time, whether she's an indoor or outdoor person, her favorite food, and even the kind of flowers she likes. Surprise her with those things, and be yourself. I'm sure she'll say yes. ~I offer a reassuring smile.

Sharky: Thanks, y/n. I'm really nervous. What if she says no?

Y/N: Oh, come on! There's no way she'll say no to you. You're an amazing guy. ~We both share a laugh.*

Sharky: Looks like I have some planning to do. I'll call you. Bye. ~He stands up and heads out.

~Three days later~

I receive a call from Chunkz.

Y/N: Hey, what's up?

Chunkz: Hey, Y/N! Sharky wants you to come over to the house. He said he has something to tell us.

Y/N: Oh, did he mention what time?

Chunkz: Nope, he just said to come over right now, I guess.

Y/N: Alright, see you soon. Bye.

*End of call.*

I quickly get dressed, a smile forming on my lips. I can't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. Once I finish getting ready, I grab my keys and head out.

~ At the Beta squad mansion~

I walk in, and everyone is gathered in the living room.

Y/N: Hey, guys!

Aj: y/n! the girl ~ I sat on the end of the couch

Niko: Wonder what Sharky has to tell us.

Chunkz: Me too. Do you think it's about a girl?

Kenny: Maybe. I mean, he's been smiling a lot lately.

Y/N: Yeah, I've noticed that too.

Minutes later...

Sharky walks in, with a smile on his face, and greets us all.

Sharky: So, guys, I have someone I want you all to meet. ~A girl walks in, and holds hands with him. My heart sinks as I stare at their intertwined fingers.

Sharky: This is Katie, my girlfriend.

Chunkz: I knew it! *He says, laughing.*

Kenny: Wow, happy for both of you!

Aj: Ay, happy for you, bro! Katie, he's been cleaning up more, you know. Boy is grown up ~ he says laugh

Y/N: Aww, you guys are so cute together!

Sharky: This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for you. ~ he smiles at me

I couldn't help but notice the pain in y/n's eyes. It was clear that she had feelings for Sharky. But what made it even more complicated was that I was in love with her. Yet, she was here, unaware of my own feelings.
