Lexa's mood is teetering between annoyed and explosive as the morning progresses.  The next person to ask her if she's SURE this is what she wants to do is getting throw in a cell for a fortnight.

Plans, strategies, and contingencies all swarm her brain until it's fuzzy. She's slept maybe 2-3hrs each the past two nights, and her concentration is shot.

Thousands of warriors from all 12 Clans have arrived, which has the city buzzing with tension, and Lexa's anxiety grows the higher the sun climbs to its apex. She's too aware of the hours ticking away before this all get put into motion. She never second guesses herself when it comes military action, but there's no true backup plan.  This can only go one way.  Anything else will be a disaster.

She wishes Clarke was here to talk through her line of thinking, to assure her it is the best option. Truthfully, however, she knows it's the best option, what she really needs is the blonde's validation for what she will likely do if the sky people still reject her offer of alliance.

They cannot be so stubborn, or so stupid to refuse this deal, Lexa thinks to herself.  She's bent over her war table that has a large map of all 12 territories on one side of her throne room, going over in her head what she plans to say when she faces this "Pike."

Clarke had told her all about him.  About his unshakable distrust in grounders, his superiority complex as the 'Earth Skills' teacher up on the Ark, as well as his charisma which explained how he had persuaded so many to vote him into leadership.

He's no different than other clan leaders I've faced. I've dealt with arrogance, stubbornness, and a fragile male ego plenty of times.

The door creaked open and Lexa looked over her shoulder to see Luna's wild auburn mane turn the corner, a tray of food in her hands.

"I smell burnt hair, you're overthinking aren't you." She jokes, placing the tray down on the edge of the table. On it was an array of fruits, cheese, meats, fresh fluffy bread and different flavored jams.

"I'm not hungry" Lexa says, turning her head back to the table.
