I Just want to say thanks to everyone who participated and commented on my invitation for input for this part :) It was super fun seeing everyone's insults and I might do it again in the future if there's a part that warrants similar input. :) See notes at the end of chapter for credits to those I ended up pulling/tweaking in some way!

***Highly suggest listening to "Don't Play" By Halsey before reading to set the tone for this chapter <3

...."Get out here you fucking coward!"

Given the darkness and the heavy rain obscuring her vision she hears the metal door of the ark open before she sees it

Given the darkness and the heavy rain obscuring her vision she hears the metal door of the ark open before she sees it.  Bellamy emerges from the door alone, and Lexa takes several steps away from the gate so that he has to come all the way out to meet her.

It felt strange to imagine Clarke having lived here, having her own room here, relaxing, laughing with her friends here. So much of her life before she came to Polis was unknown to Lexa, so much of her life in space she'd never even asked about. How much did she truly know about Clarke? Would she ever know as much as the boy who was walking towards her now?

Bellamy pushes through the gate, cautiously glancing back and forth along the tree line behind the commander as he steps closer, until they are within arms reach of each other.

"It's not a trap Bellamy." Growls Lexa, "They don't know I'm here."

"Is that so," He flips his wet hair back from his forehead, "Awfully bold of you."

"Bold of you to think I won't let everyone in there starve if you want to continue testing my patience."

"Clarke would never let you do that, is that why you're determined to keep her away?"

"I sent for her." Lexa states. "She refused to come. She knows where I stand, what I want for both our people."

"That's bullshit. She'd be here if she had a choice."

"If she were here you'd probably have her locked up with her mom and her friends."

"You worry about your own people, I will worry about mine."

"I can't do that – I promised Clarke I would treat her people as my people." Lexa keeps her eyes locked onto Bellamy's, the ground softening into thick mud under their feet. "All you have to do is rejoin my coalition."

"You left her and the rest of us to die at Mt. Weather!" Bellamy yells, "We didn't need you then, and we don't need you now."

"That was a mistake, and it's in the past. I'm here to make right by it!" Lexa yells back.

Bellamy sarcastically chuckles, "Is that what Clarke tells you? That it's in the past?"

"She tells me lot of things." Lexa sneers.
