It's evening when Lexa wakes to the warm glow of her room. She registers a comforting weight on her chest, her sky girl lightly snoring on top of her.
She strokes the blonde hair and presses her lips to the top of the girl's head, letting herself start to doze back off.
She jolts back awake when she hears a knock at her door. But it's soft, friendly, and she soon hears Luna's voice announce herself as she slowly enters.
"Hey Lex, I just wanted to check on how you were-- Oh." She stopped when she saw the two girls cuddled on the couch. "Well I guess never mind, you certainly seem to be in good hands." She smiles tilting her head to the side, relieved to see the commander relaxed after their tense exchange that morning.
"Should I clear out everyone from this floor?" Luna says in a hushed tone. Lexa nods, she doesn't want Clarke's presence back in Polis known.
"Hey Luna, could you do something else for me?" Lexa whispers, straining her neck to look at the other girl as she was backing out the door.
Luna had just her head still popped through the opening, "Of course, what do you need?"
A gentle smile creeps across Lexa's face for the first time in days, "Could you bring us some dinner?"
Luna returned the smile, letting herself feel mushy at the request for a split second before opening her mouth.
"What you haven't eaten yet?" Shifting her eyes along the sleeping girl on top of her."
Lexa rolls her eyes, "You know what, nevermind."
"No I got it, I got it, geeze you're too sensitive." Luna teased. "I'll let the guards know to clear the floor, and take their post down at the elevator for the night..." She paused, her grin crawling right back onto her lips, "...So you can uh...properly enjoy your dessert later." She winks and then disappears before Lexa can threaten her with bodily harm.
She didn't move until Luna returned a short while later, placing a tray with enough food for two down on her table next to the dozen or so lit candles.
"One day you are going to burn down this whole tower on accident you know." Luna said picking up the piece of paper that was partially under a few of the candles, already with wax dripped onto it.
"If that is to be my fate, so be it." Lexa replied, nuzzling her face back into Clarke's head to wake her with more kisses.
"Whatever you little pyro." The other girl chuckled heading back to the door. "See you in the morning. Have a good niiiiiiiight." She finished in a higher octave.
