“What the hell happened?” Albedo said, bursting into Jeans office. Nobody was telling him anything. The most useful information he got was that there were several severe and life-threatening injuries, but no one said who, “Where’s Kaeya?”
“Albedo,” Jean said, leaving a conversation with Barbara and walking over to him, “Just calm down okay.”
“Calm down? Nobody is giving me answers, and I have two little girls who are terrified that something happened to Master Kaeya. So no, I won’t calm down unless somebody tells me what’s going on.” It wasn’t just the little girls that were scared, Albedo was too. Their last conversation Albedo knew Kaeya had no intentions of coming back or being safe, and now he has no clue where Kaeya is. He could be dead. The place was hectic nurses and knights running around taking care of wounded people, so he understood why they couldn’t answer him fully. But it was still annoying.
Jean motioned for Albedo to follow her. She walked up the stairs to where some of the cavalry captains' rooms were and stopped in front of Kaeya's room. She just stood staring at the door for a minute before pushing it open. Kaeya was lying on his bed with Barbara and Rosaria on both sides of his bed, finishing up whatever they were doing. Albedo slowly approached the foot of his bed and noticed that Kaeya was asleep.
“We barely got there in time,” Jean said quietly, standing next to Albedo, “he was barely hanging on.”
“What happened?” Albedo said, sitting down in the window seat still staring at Kaeya
“Everything was going fine.... until it didn’t. Kaeya was supposed to negotiate with them, avoid a battle if possible, and he was doing a good job, but I guess I don't know if something went wrong and we were attacked from behind. Kaeya asked if he could take care of something and then disappeared,” Jean started pacing back and forth around the dark, “the fighting went on for hours and then, they just stopped and disappeared into the forest. Me and Diluc ran to go find Kaeya, but when we found him, he...”
“it’s okay, Jean,” Albedo said, placing a hand on her shoulder smiling, “he’s alive, and that’s what matters.” Kaeya may be unconscious, but at least he’s breathing.
“You care about him don’t you.” Jean said, smiling at Albedo
“I,” Albedo didn’t know what to say. He wasn’t sure what he felt when it came to Kaeya. Emotions and feelings weren't really his thing, seeing as how he’s not actually human, but Kaeya, Kaeya managed to make him feel something. Albedo genuinely enjoyed being around the cavalry captain and found himself missing Kaeya when he was alone in the mountain. Was it love, or was it just that Kaeya was his friend? “I guess.”
“Don’t worry,” Jean said, winking at him, “you’re secrets safe with me.” Albedo let out a slight chuckle and shook his head.
“If it’s not much trouble,” Albedo said, making his way towards the door, “could you have Diluc or someone move him to my camp. The girls desperately want to see him, but I made a promise not to let them leave the mountain.” Jean smiled and nodded her head. Albedo shut the door and walked down the hallway, lost in thought. He can’t fall in love. Being in love is just silly. It’s too much trouble. And plus, nothing could happen between them, not with Kaeya's track record.A/n: Sorry that this is short. im unmotivated right now. On a different note, do you ever just want to lock yourself in a room and start screaming and yelling and crying all while breaking things because you don't know what else to do?
