OMINIS POV

It's truly happening - the Triwizard Tournament - which means father really knew it was coming months ago. But something isn't sitting right, there's a glaring detail that we've missed, what is it? I hope Y/N is on her way soon..

Once we had been dismissed by Professor Weasley I did my best to find Y/N among the students that remained loitering in the Great Hall to rant and rave over the announcements. It was hard to discern which one everyone was more excited about, Quidditch or the Triwizard Tournament. None of us had ever experienced a tournament - not even the faculty or anyone's parents, possibly not even anyone's living grandparents save possibly my own ancient grandfather had witnessed the event before. What was to be expected was only read about in books and old news clippings and to be fair none of it was pleasant.

The last tournament was ended halfway through due to catastrophic amount of injuries and the loss of life. I'm not okay with her doing this, not so my father can just put her on display to prove a point to the other families. How has she not proven she is worthy enough yet? And certainly there are other means if more merit is required.

What does Nathairin Gaunt truly want to come of this? He is plotting deeper than he is letting on, I know it!

I had found Y/N being swarmed by our classmates that were indeed thanking her for convincing Professor Black to bring Quidditch back to Hogwarts. There was no choice but for me to wait off to side of the crowd, leaning up against the stone wall and hoping she would notice me once the excitement died down. It wasn't long before she approached, the special stride of her low heels against the floor and the cloud of sultry lavender scent that followed her around so pleasantly familiar that I could find her in a sea of thousand people if I had to.

Our public displays of affection could no longer be the fervid gestures we had grown used to in our seclusion over the summer but I was still overjoyed nonetheless when I felt her take up my hand in a gentle grasp, allowing me to kiss the back of her own. Of course there were still a few gasps and whispers at our expense, but I hoped over time our relationship would be widely recognized and respected.

"Ominis, it's actually happening - just as Nathairin said it would. But.. I'm worried.." She said with a trembling that was not only in her voice, but I could feel in her fingers as well.

"Let's not discuss it here, beloved." I drew circles into the back of her hand with my thumb, hoping the small gesture was still soothing to her. "The Undercroft, when you are ready. Take your time with your friends, I'll be waiting for you there."

And now I had waited, pacing endlessly through the center of the Undercroft in anticipation of hearing the clockwork chime to life and the gates clatter open to announce her arrival. Determining what my father was truly up to was going to take more efforts than I had access to being away from the estate and considering how much my mother had become obsessed with Y/N she certainly must have her own agenda she was scheming for. My thoughts jumped back and forth between my parents possible motives, frustrated that I could not find a common ground between the two of them. Perhaps I had lost my touch in predicting them because I had recluse myself from my family for the past three years.

I'll have to lean on Astrid to dig deeper into what's truly going on.. Lucian will be of little help since he and Danelle have likely returned to their own home until New Years..

My pacing ended when I heard the echo of the door mechanism clang through the Undercroft and I moved myself into position to greet Y/N at the end of her decent down the stairs. However my smile quickly faded as it was not the delicate tapping of her heels on the stonework steps but the heavy trodding of men's dress shoes. I sighed in frustration and tried to prevent my on coming headache by rubbing my forehead in my palm. Sebastian... lovely.
