No, no, no, no—NO! That can't be!
Som doesn't remember Darren Pike ever writing a BL. He read all of his works, all of his online novels on various platforms. In fact, other fans should consider him the master of Darren Pike's works! Som could say with confidence that his favorite author was never introduced as a BL writer. Not even once! And the notion that he must be stuck in one left him with so much confusion.
"Are you alright?" Mica started asking as the Druid's face turned paler and paler.
Som turned to him with blazing eyes. "Why would you even say that?!"
The confused Strigoi scratched the back of his nape. "It was just a thought; you don't need to take it seriously..."
"Why are you repulsed by the idea?" Marko couldn't help interjecting, "Don't you view it as an advantage?"
Advantage? Som thought with his knitted brows. So, should he use himself now as bait? The whole assertion was amusing, but Som couldn't even laugh, thinking hard about how the idiot came up with that claim. The Dragon Prince was probably contemplating eating him since he injured his face on his first day here.
But before he got too ahead of himself, he looked at the brothers again and placed both of his hands on Mica's shoulders, and with all the seriousness one could muster on their face, Som asked the most important question (he thinks) in this story, "Girl or boy?"
"HUH?" The younger Strigoi couldn't even comprehend what he was hearing. "What do you mean? I'm a boy!"
"That's not it!" Som snapped, and both brothers were silenced. There was something about Som's face that was frightening whenever he glared. "What gender are you attracted to?"
It took a few more seconds before Mica could realize what he was asking, and his face instantly turned scarlet. "Why are you even asking me that?!" He removed himself from his hold and pushed his elder brother in front.
Marko was puzzled by the two. "What are we discussing now?"
"Ah, never mind...." Som uttered, frustrated. "I am not using myself as bait for that Dragon Prince! Not in a million years."
Marko started scratching his butt, "I think Mica's right, and you should really consider it. You're the only exemption in his condition."
"What are you saying now? He didn't answer your question because it was stupid! He warned you, of course, you should send the message to others too. And that includes me. It's called common sense, asshole!"
Neither Marko nor Mica argued with the statement, but Som could see that what surprised them wasn't the statement but because he cursed. In this world, Druids were known to behave like holy beings, and they didn't speak the way he did. But Som had exhausted the last remaining brain cells he had for today and didn't want to think anymore, even though he couldn't shake this nagging feeling inside of him that he must be in the wrong novel!

All throughout the day, they did nothing but study the geography and history of Asturia. How this world came to be and how the legions were formed. Som was bored of this because he read all of this in the novel. He also couldn't move on to the fear that Darren Pike must've had another version of Legion War somewhere that would explain the phenomenon he was experiencing right now. Regardless, the author did not strike him as someone who would write such type of genre. It must be just Mica's low IQ. Yes, he thought. He would blame it on this sibling's clowning!
The three friends head straight to the canteen afterward, with only Som getting more agitated because the brothers kept teasing him and he kept arguing with them. At long last, food was served, and Som concentrated on chewing, hoping the brothers would do the same too.
