"Som? SOM!?" Fuck! Ilarion could not connect to the druid or to anyone else and his anxiety was beginning to take its toll on him he did not even notice that Malee was watching him with curious eyes. Even for a writer who loves fantasy stories, this was an experience best imagined not done in real life!

"What's going on?" she asked and at once, his attention turned to her. "Who are you?"

Who am I? Ilarion thought. Who indeed. At this point, he could be anyone he wanted because he had no clue anymore who he was or who Som was. They were both thrown into the world that they might have been part of since time immemorial. Either that, or if Som really was the phoenix god that Zelda claimed him to be then it was Som who pulled him into this world.

"It's...complicated to explain it right now."

Malee stopped walking as they reached a dark alleyway that should connect to another lift that should transfer them back above the ground where they left their own carriage that should take them back to their base.

"We have time. I want to know what's going on and why did you speak like that to my teacher? Did you know each other?"

He turned his face away and looked around the place before looking at her again. "Let me ask you a question, do you even know me?" Malee opened her mouth wanting to prove her knowledge of his existence but found out that she could not and she remained tightlipped. Ilarion continued, "Don't you find it strange that you don't anything about me, yet I know a lot of things about you, your brother, and everyone in this world."

Malee was evidently confused and asked, "Are you...a god?"

"A god? I don't know. One thing I'm certain of is that Som pulled me here. He brought me into this world to help him rewrite whatever it is that keeps happening and why he kept resetting this world."

"What kind of...power is that..."

"You called that power? It sounds like a curse to me. Let me explain this to you and I want you to keep an open mind. I met Som as someone else from another world. I was a writer and I wrote this whole story the title of this "novel" is Legion War. Som was my avid reader but he was disappointed with the way I wrote the story and he wrote a scathing review—"

"What's a review?"

"Ah, never mind it! Fast forward, we died in that world or that's how I would like to understand it and we both woke up in this world. He woke up as Som and I woke up as Ilarion."

"I don't understand..."

"Of course, you don't understand!" Ilarion raised both of his hands in exasperation. "I think there are a few beings in this world who could remember the story. Sri, your brother Nira, King Kyro, and your former teacher Zelda."

"And Kali."

"Yes, Kali knows that Som is the phoenix but I think he didn't know that he is the reason why the phoenix god keeps resetting this world."

Malee's brows furrowed even deeply. "What do you mean he didn't know?"

"Don't you get it? He is the God Naga! He's like a ticking timebomb, he awakens and this world will be thrown into complete chasm!"

A loud crash sounded not far from where they stood followed by an explosion and then a scream of individuals running away from the careening debris that was forming before their eyes. Both Ilarion and Malee looked in the direction, stupefied at first, before grasping where the noise was coming from.

"That's in the atrium..." Malee gasped and even Ilarion stared wide-eyed before the said in unison, "Zelda!"
