This sacred temple was shaped like a pyramid, and the ceilings were high and wide, but at the center was a circle. Som decided to get inside the circle and sat cross-legged on the floor. Rings made of words appeared around his wrists as he started doing hand seals slowly and precisely. Then, he closed his eyes as he felt the aura getting stronger beneath him. All those symbols, letters that only this universe could understand. They spoke to one another to whisper secrets no one should ever know.

Rewriting rune magics without interrupting the alarm that might awaken and break the illusion that he cast around them could be tricky. Truthfully, this was the first time he did something based on how well he understood the original novel. Som wasn't even certain if he could do this perfectly. An author's imagination was, of course, different from reality. Who knows what was running through Darren Pike's head when he invented rune magic?

But as soon as the rune magic was recanted, all the markings, symbols, and drawings written in golden ink seemed to have crawled backward and disappeared, leaving the black walls and ceilings like an empty canvas. Then, just right in front of them, the altar opened a sealed door that they didn't see before.

What the actual fuck? Som thought. It worked. Whatever the hell that writer had written worked!

The creak from the sealed door caught their attention, and behind that door was a room.

"Who are you? Did Kali send you?"

"Magnus Falsen?!"

All three of Som's companions cried out as a heavier-set man with light green hair and a round face came out of that secret room. He was well-groomed and dressed nicely and looked as if he was having a good time inside that sealed compartment.

Som didn't move from where he stood. So, this was the character that was destined to die in the first chapter. He couldn't believe that he had managed to save his life and wondered if this would affect the whole course of the story.

He also wondered if this would change the genre.

"Som, he is the diplomat of the Hydra clan," Mica told him.

"I know," he muttered under his breath.

The Strigoi brothers gave him a strange look but didn't say anything. In their mind, they haven't met anyone like Som. He seemed different from how Sri described him.

The guy walked closer and started scratching his head. "Are you guys working for Prince Kali as well?" He asked, "Odd, I've never met either one of you before."

Mica sneered, "We're not working for him, alright? As a matter of fact, we're here to unmask him."

"Unmask him? What is that supposed to mean?"

Before everything could be further explained, a group of individuals wearing black jackets, black trousers, and hooded cowl emerged from the shadow. Their whole bodies were covered with cloth like the guards. It was impossible to see their faces or know their identities.

"Guys, the guards are still unconscious, right?" Som asked this as the strangers surrounded them, drawing their weapons out of nowhere and moving forward in a threatening manner.

Saanvi suddenly pulled out a stick behind her and pressed something transforming this object into a spear. "They're mercenaries. They were sent here to kill HIM."

It was obvious who they wanted to kill but knowing that Som would want to do this smoothly, Marko suddenly pulled the Druid behind him as the three of them started engaging in a battle.
