Izzy's POV
"I mean, you are a descendent of the first mated pair. Your pairing is unique. The mates in your bloodline are more like twin flames. Twin flames aren't like soul mates, two souls made for each other. Twin flames are two halves of the same soul. It's not possible for him to knowingly and willingly cheat on you. He would have been in just as much pain as you were in, if not more. Your souls belong to each other and only each other. Did he accept your rejection? Alice asked.

"I honestly don't know," I replied. "No, he didn't," Dad replied. "Your bond is not broken. Even if he did accept it, neither of you would ever be happy or have sex again. You can not be happy with anyone but each other. Any time you try to have sex with anyone else. The two of you would be in excruciating pain. You two would be miserable until you reunited," Alice stated. "But he did cheat, and he wasn't in any pain at all," I replied sadly.

"You said when he looked at Izzy, he looked back at the other woman and seemed confused, right?" She asked. "Yes," the three of us replied. "I believe he thought he was with you. That's why he wasn't in any pain because, in his mind, he wasn't cheating on you. That's why he was confused. Someone had to do something to him," she stated. Could this be true? Who would do something like that, though? Does he really love me? Fuck this is giving me a headache.

"Look, I'm not trying to make excuses for him; I don't even know him or who he is. I just know what I know. Do you know who would possibly drug him or put a spell on him?" She asked. "The only person I can think of is Michelle. She has been in love with him since Jr high," Drew stated. "His mother," Dad replied.

Drew and I looked at Dad, shocked. What do you mean?" Alice asked. Before everything happened, Alpha Lewis and I were linking each other. Apparently, it wasn't Alpha Lewis who made a deal with Alpha Paul; it was Luna Diana. She had been stealing money from the pack until Alpha Lewis cut her off and blocked her on all accounts. She was also cheating on Alpha Lewis with Alpha Paul. Alpha Lewis believed she was going to leave him and become Alpha Paul's mate, but only if she got Harrison to mate Michelle," Dad stated.

"What the fuck?" Drew growled. "So him finding his mate jeopardized the life both of those evil bitches wanted," I growled. "I'd say they both played a part in it," Alice replied. "If any of this is true, what do I do?" I asked. "We need to find out what happened; then we need to reunite you with your mate. Once marked, those seeking you to mate or impregnate you won't have a chance. Your mating will cut the threat in half. We will mainly deal with those wanting to kill you," Celeste replied.

"How will we find out the truth? It's not like we can just go waltzing back into the pack," Drew stated. "That is where you are wrong. Your pack is in danger once they figure out that's where the presence of your aura started," Celeste stated. "What? We have to warn them. They are innocent," I said as I jumped up. "We are going to go back and help them; we just have a few things we have to do first," Celeste stated.

"Like what?" Drew asked. "Well, for one, it seems to me that Alice has found her beloved," Celeste smiled. Drew and I looked at each other confused, then we looked at Dad; he was smiling at Alice, and she was smiling back at him. "What? Seriously? I thought with the whole twin flame thing that we don't get a second chance, mates?" I asked.

"If it's through rejection, then you nor your mate will get a second chance. If your mate passes, the goddess will bless you with a second chance. She blessed your bloodline with love when she mated Samuel and Maria," Alice smiled. "Dad, is this true?" Drew asked. Dad smiled at Alice and then looked at Drew. "It is. I knew it as soon as I saw her come out of the kitchen," he replied. "Wow, Dad. Congratulations. I'm so happy for you," I said as I got up and hugged him. "Congratulations Alice. Welcome to the family," I said as I hugged her. "Thank you, and welcome to ours," she replied.

"Well, shit. Just my luck," Drew huffed. "What's wrong?" Dad asked worriedly. "I thought Ruby was cute and thought I had a chance. That chance just vanished with her being my sister," Drew pouted. We all started laughing.

After our fit of laughter, we talked and started strategizing. Celeste and Dad made a few calls while Alice, Ruby, Drew, and I started working on a plan for the Emerald Pack.

"So we have a guest coming that will be here shortly," Celeste stated. "Who?" Drew asked. "The vampire king and his family," Celeste replied. "Wait? What? Why?" Drew asked. "The vampire king wants peace. He hates all this fighting and chaos. He doesn't want his children to grow up in a world full of hate and violence," Celeste replied. "Can we trust him? I mean, he is a vampire," Drew stated. "Yes, we can. I know wolves don't generally trust Vampires now, but that's not how it used to be. The king was a small child when we had peace, but he remembers and misses it. He wants peace again," Celeste said with a smile.

"We have devised a plan for the Emerald Pack," Ruby smiled. "What's that?" Dad asked. "Izzy is going to write a letter and give it to me. I will visit the Emerald Pack and request a meeting with the Alpha and Harrison. I will present them with the letter and get them to meet the rest of us somewhere," Ruby stated proudly. "What if they won't let you see the alpha," Celeste asked. "We know how to get him to see her," Drew smiled. "Sounds good. Hope it works," Celeste smiled.

Ruby had brought me a pen and some paper. I started thinking about what to write.

We need to talk.

Nope, not that one. That is so informal he may think I just want him to accept my rejection.

I know there is a lot both of us don't know.

Nope, that just sounds stupid. What kind of letter is that? Fuck this is harder than I thought it would be.

Nope, definitely not that. If there wasn't some diabolical plan and he just cheated on me, I'll be damned if I play the pathetic lovesick dumbass.

That's about as good as it's going to get. I don't want to pour my heart out and tell him I know it wasn't what it looked like and that I love and miss him so much. I'm not going to make myself vulnerable again. If he just cheated, I won't give him an out. Fuck, why did I have to find my mate? Who would have thought finding your mate would lead to an avalanche of chaotic bullshit. Fuck my life.
