Jody's POV
"Who did you meet?" Cassie asked again while drinking her coffee I've made for her some minutes ago.
"This guy called Vic" I repeated and sat in front of her on the dining table. Her hair was still messy, even though she put it up into a ponytail. Her eyes were really sleepy and I could see the hangover in them.
"And you let this Vic guy grab me and carry me upstairs?!"
"Yeah...he seemed...nice."
"Just because a guy seems nice, doesn't mean that he wouldn't rape you."
"I think he would've first raped you, because you were already in his arms."
"Thanks a lot!" I laughed and she glared at me. She finished her coffee and put the mug down on the table.
"And who was this guy who tried to catch the stars?"
"He's called Jaime."
"Oh, Spanish-Jaime?"
"Yeah, Vic said it really Spanish. Maybe they're Spanish or Mexican?"
"Or they're from a Spanish colony in Africa or something like that!" I rolled my eyes and punched her arm over the table. She glared at me again before she went to the sink and put the mug in it.
"Okay, I have to leave now. Thanks that I could sleep here" Cassie thanked me and hugged me before she left my house. I checked the time on my phone and saw that I was time for me to prepare for work. I work in a music store as a shop assistant. Not the best job, but since I couldn't go to college because we didn't have any money for that, it wasn't that bad. I mean, I could have ended up without any job, so I'm actually glad about it.
I play piano, so I was the expert about pianos/keyboards and also about microphones. Though I'm shy, I manage to push that away at work, because I really like my job and it's fun. My chef is really nice and the people who work there, too. I really loved working there.
I walked up the stairs, went into the bathroom and took a shower. After that, I walked in my room, just wearing a towel, and picked some clothes. I decided for black skinny jeans, a Blink-182 shirt and a red-black button-down which I left open. I dried my hair and let it open. Applying my make-up, I checked myself in the mirror, before I went downstairs and grabbed my skateboard and my bag. I really loved skating and I always go to work by skateboard when it's good weather. Just like today. The sun is shining really bright, telling everyone that it survived the bitter cold winter and is still here for lighting the world into a warm temperature. The flowers began to bloom and the trees went with the wind. I took a deep breath, while walking towards the street and put my skateboard on the ground. I put one foot on it and looked around. Spring is so beautiful and I fucking love it. I pushed my foot off the ground and drove in the direction of the shop I was working in. I drove past the big park where a lot of people were already playing games and having a pick-nick, it was still morning though.
"WATCH OUT!" Before I could, I saw how a ball was thrown in front of my skateboard, causing it to stop abruptly. I fell forward really fast and crashed with my left hand against the hard floor. There was a loud crack when this happened and I landed first on my hand/wrist, arm and then my back. I hold my wrist and screamed in pain.
"Fucking hell! Are you okay?" I heard a few steps coming closer to me. A hand was placed on my shoulder, trying to clam me down.
"Shit! I'm so sorry! I-I didn't look where I was throwing the ball." This voice was familiar, but I didn't open my eyes yet to look who was actually speaking to me. The pain in my wrist was so strong, that I kept my eyes shut. But then the curiosity of who was speaking to me, was too high, so opened them. When I saw his face, I could've screamed and sort of laugh because that was too good.
"Oh my god, it's you" he said first with wide open eyes. Next to him was this other guy that really looked like him. Maybe they're brothers or something like that?
"Wait, you know each other?" the Vic-look-alike asked confused. Vic kind of smiled and nodded.
"Well, maybe not "knowing" but we met...yesterday when I was walking Jaime home" Vic explained.
"Not wanting to interrupt your conversation but could you please fucking help me?!" Those words came out my mouth faster than I could even think about it. But it just needed to be said. They were just having casually a conversation next to me while I was almost dying because of my pain! I actually wanted to tell them, that they need to fucking help me now, but before I could say another word, I was lifted up by two strong arms. Vic carried me to a car, which I was guessing was his. It's actually just my wrist that is hurt but I don't mind if you wanna carry me around. Vic-look-alike opened the door so Vic sat me in the back seat. Then he sat in the other side and Vic-look-alike sat in the driver's seat and drove in direction of the hospital.
"Damn, I'm really so sorry. Me and Mike were playing with the ball and I didn't watch where I was throwing it and then well, you know what happened next" Vic apologized.
"By the way, I'm Mike and Vic's younger brother" Vic-look-alike informed me, quickly smiled back and Vic was almost yelling at him for not paying attention to the street. So, the Vic-look-alike was a look-alike because he's his brother..! That makes sense.
After some minutes, Mike parked his or Vic's car in a parking lot. We all opened the doors and entered the hospital. Vic was telling a nurse everything that happened, so she left for searching a doctor. Mike brought a cold can of coke for putting it on my wrist. The cold of the coke was calming the pain a bit and I relaxed a bit. Just then a doctor came, led me into a room and took a radiograph of my wrist for checking if it was broken. It was. So we went into another room and I got some medicine against the pain, before he put my left wrist into a white cast. When he was finished, he told me everything I needed to know, like that I had to wear that thing for some months now and that I shouldn't work for three days. I thanked him and then left the room to walk to Vic and Mike for telling them everything. Vic apologized for like another thousand times and I told him that it was totally okay.
"I really owe you so much" Vic said and smiled at me while we left the hospital.
"You owe me my wrist, three days of my job and something that makes my cast look better" I told. Something about him made me forget my shyness and just let me be me. I don't know what it was, though.
"Yeah, I think that really sums it up. Oh, by the way, here's your bag. And I think that you kind of fell on your iPod and crashed it. So I also owe you a new iPod." He gave me my bag and I searched for my iPod, to see if that what he said was true. It was.
"No..! My poor iPod." I put my iPod on my cheek and rubbed it against it. I pushed a few buttons trying to turn it on, but it indeed didn't work anymore.
"I'm really sorry. I'll buy you a new one, I promise. Give me your phone number and I'll call you we can go buy a new one of your some when." I smiled when he gave me his phone and I tipped my number in it and my name. And he did the same with my phone. This guy really didn't lose one second.
"I guess we'll drive you home now" Mike said and we walked outside to his car. I got in the back seat, while the brothers sat in the two front seats. I conducted Mike the way to my house. When he parked his car in the driveway, I opened the door and we said our goodbyes.
"Okay, so I'll call you, okay?" Vic asked and smiled at me from the front seat.
"Yes, sure. See you around, guys" I said, got "Bye"'s as answer and walked to my house with the bag in my hand. When I opened the door, I turned around for the last time to wave to them. Then I entered my house and put my bag on the dining table. Okay, what the fuck happened today?! I mean, you don't break your wrist everyday and get driven to hospital and back by total strangers. They seem really nice, though.
"Were you bored today, up there?" I asked and looked upwards. It really wasn't a normal day. But, I mean, what is normal about life?
This Vic seemed really nice, so did Mike. It was cool how they immediately helped me and looked after me. Because it's not usual that your skateboard gets hit by a ball, you fall and break your wrist and two strangers help you. Okay, Vic wasn't that kind of a stranger anymore, because I met him today for the second time.
I needed to tell somebody about this, so I decided to call Cassie. After some minutes of searching in my bag, I finally found my phone and searched for Cassie's number to call her. My phone wasn't crashed. Luckily, for Vic and his wallet.
"Hello?" her voice sounded through the speaker.
"Hi Cassie. You will never believe what happened today!" I told her the whole story in a rush, because I was still pretty exited about it.
"Wow. And all that happened today?!"
"Yes! I mean, that's so crazy! And you remember when I told you about that guy that carried you upstairs yesterday?"
Uh, yes I do. He's called Vic, isn't he?"
"Yes, exactly. Well, that guy that accidentally threw the ball in front of my skateboard was that Vic!"
"No. Way."
"And the other guy was his brother Mike. But it was really this Vic from yesterday!"
"Wow, that thing is getting weirder and weirder."
"Yes, it really does."
"Okay, I have to hang up now. I have a date."
"Oh really? With who?"
"A guy called Ben. I met him at the diner today and he asked me out." Cassie was working in a diner just some blocks from here. She's been working there for so long and is now almost at the point where she can run that whole thing. She barely works as a waiter anymore because she has to do all of the office stuff.
"Oh, sounds nice. Have fun."
"Thanks, we will." We said our goodbyes and hung up. I put my phone on the table and looked around. What was I supposed to do now? I was hungry, so why not cook a dinner? I stood up from the chair and walked in the kitchen. My fridge had some pizza left from yesterday's lunch, so that was my dinner. I heated it up in the microwave and then ate it in the kitchen, while leaning against a counter. When I was finished, I did the dishes, trying not to get water on my cast, and went back to the living room, which was just next to the dining room and kitchen. I sat on the couch, turned the TV on and switched through the channels. There were some kids' shows and I decided to some of them. Though I wondered why there are kids' TV shows on this late. Usually they're just on in the morning. After some hours watching different shows, I turned the TV off and walked upstairs in my room. I took the make-up off of my face and changed into my pyjama, before I lay in my bed and put the covers over me. I reached to the nightstand to look at my phone. No messages or anything. Usually I would now listen to music until I fell asleep but since my iPod is smashed, I couldn't do that one. So I just fell asleep listening to the sounds from outside.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I woke up, the sun was already shining and the birds were singing. Kids were playing outside and shouting each others names. I rubbed my eyes and got up from my bed. I took a quick shower, I covered my cast with a plastic bag, and put on my black skinny jeans and my Nirvana shirt. I pulled my red hair into a ponytail and applied my make-up. When I was finished, I took my bag, put everything I needed in it and drove with my car to the next Starbucks for coffee. I ordered a Frappucino and a cookie, which was supposed to be my breakfast. Sometimes I eat real breakfast, but mostly I go to Starbucks because then I don't have to do anything except of driving. I sat down on a table and checked my phone. I've already got a message from Vic. While taking the first bites of my cookie, I opened the message and read:
Hey, here's Vic. When do you have time for buying you a new iPod? :)
I smiled and texted back.
Didn't you say that you would call me? ;)He indeed said that he would call me, so I wanted a phone call. Then it popped in my mind that I'm shy and probably would have no idea what to say. Messages would have been better, because then I would have had time to think what I was gonna text back. But no, I needed to tell him, that he should call me, so that is gonna be an awkward phone call. Yay for me?
Before I could think about something else, my phone rang and said that Vic was calling me. With shaky hands, I picked up.
"Hello?" I answered unsure.
"Hi, here's Vic." His voice was so soft and friendly, it immediately calmed me down and forget about the worries I just had some seconds before.
"Hi."
"So, since you wanted me to call you, when do you have time for buying you a new iPod?"
"Oh well, in two days I have to go to work again, so I guess tomorrow?"
"Yeah, that sounds good. So I'm gonna pick you up at 1pm?"
"Yes, that sounds good. And by the way, I didn't force you to call me, you said yesterday that you would call me, so I just reminded you." He laughed softly. Damn, from where was this enthusiasm suddenly coming from?
"Yeah, okay. You're right. So, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow, bye." We hung up and the line went dead. I smiled at my phone for some seconds before I put it down on the table. So I'm gonna see my wrist-breaker again tomorrow. The excitement was streaming through my veins and I couldn't think straight anymore. Something about this guy made me bubbly and happy, even though he was the cause of my broken wrist. But I wasn't angry at him, I mean it was an accident. And he was pretty cute, because he's short. Good I'm even shorter than him. What am I thinking? I sound like he's my boyfriend or anything. Damn, I just met this guy and he's already bringing my world into a beautiful mess.Vic's POV
after Mike and Vic brought Jody home...
"See you around, guys" Jody said and walked to her house. Mike and me called a "Bye" after her before she disappeared in her house.
"Dude, you gave her your phone number? What if she's a crazy fan?" Mike asked worried. He was right, it was a bit risky.
"Yeah I know, but she seems like she doesn't know our band" I explained, while Mike began to drive out the driveway.
"She can be acting."
"No, I don't think that she is. When someone is acting, you see at least once that they're acting, but I didn't see it until now."
"Hm, we'll see." I don't think that she's a crazy fan who keeps acting. She doesn't seem like such a person. I think she's too shy for something like that, well at least she seems like it. Damn, now I already begin to think like Mike. She's just a normal girl you met and she's not a fan, the end!(A/N: comment and vote please? :3 and enjoy the pic on the right, Jaime slapping Vic in the face :') bye! <3)
