Jody's POV
Some days ago I called Sam and told him that there are somethings I need to tell him. He saw probably a bit scared now because I was so stupid and told him that it'll probably change our lives. Yeah, I'm not the best at keeping secrets and that stuff.
I was on my way over to his house. He said that Laurie is working so we could talk alone. When I parked my car in front of his house I got even more nervous than before. I took a deep breath before I knocked on his door. He welcomed me with a hug and soon after we were sitting in his living room and I tried to find the right words.
"It sucks that I always have to have those conversations with you" I started. Probably not the best start.
"Just tell it" Sam said and looked just as nervous as me.
"Okay. So before I joined Vic at Warped, I went over to Mom's before she wrote me this letter and said in it that we need to talk. So I let her talk and she told me that she cheated on...Dad and that I'm probably just your half-sister. She had an affair with another man and I'm probably the result of it" I told it right away. Sam just looked at me with an "are you fucking serious"-expression on his face. And this was just the first part.
"It's getting better. When I joined Vic on Warped, I wrote this affair-guy an e-mail. Mom told me his name so I could easily find out his address and everything. So I contacted him and told him this story. He wrote back and invited me over to his house to talk about what we're gonna do about it. So after your wedding I'm gonna meet him and find out of he's really my Dad or not" I finished. Sam's expression didn't really change...okay it got worse.
"Fucking what" he just said and covered his mouth in shock.
"Let me tell you that my reaction to all this was worse" I told and kinda laughed. Sam leaned back, breathed out heavily and ran a hand through his hair.
"Wow...I just don't know what to say" he said and looked really overstrained.
"The good thing about this is, that this guy, he's called Kevin Brown by the way, sounds really nice through the mail. I also saw some pictures of him and he has a wife and two children."
"Jesus Christ."
"I just wanted to tell you this now because after your wedding you're away for 2 weeks and I didn't want to wait for so long. I wanted to tell you this so you know about it. You don't have to worry about it, I can and will sort all of this."
"You don't have to do that alone."
"I don't, but you shouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy your wedding and honeymoon and everything. When I need someone there's still Vic."
"Yeah you're right. I still need to meet Vic though."
"You will see him at your wedding. I'm coming with him."
"Okay." Again he ran a hand through his hair and seemed to think about all this stuff.
"So we kinda grew up in a lie" he thought.
"Yeah, kinda" I agreed.
WEDDING DAY!!!
Today was the big day. Not for me, for Sam and Laurie. I was getting ready in the bathroom, make-up and all that stuff. When I was done with that, I curled my hair at the tips. Then I put on the dress and my shoes. Vic was in the bedroom trying to tie a fly. He was wearing a black suit with a white button-down and this fly. When he heard the bathroom door open, he turned his head and his eyes wided when he saw me.
"Wow" was the only thing he said. He stopped tying and walked over to me.
"You look...incredibly hot" he complimented and couldn't take his eyes off me.
"Thank you. You look really handsome yourself" I said and looked down at him. I haven't seen him in a suit yet but damn, he looks SO GOOD.
"Thank you" he thanked and kissed me. Good I haven't put on my lip stick yet. He took his time kissing me, but I really enjoyed it. I gently pulled him away and looked at his fly.
"C'mon, I'm gonna fix that" I said and started to fumble on his fly. It was totally not the way it's supposed to be, so I guess he had no idea how to tie it.
"How do you know how to tie a fly?" he asked surprised when he looked at it in the mirror.
"Well, my Dad always had those important dinners with his business and since my Mom was always too busy to help him, I had to do that" I explained and thought back to those days. Then I started to think again about that whole Dad-thing and that he maybe wasn't even my Dad anymore.
"Oh" Vic answered and realized what my mind was doing to me once again.
"Hey let's get drunk tonight!" he (badly) tried to distract me.
"I can't get drunk on my brother's wedding" I answered and looked at him kinda disappointed. He knows about my brother's past alcohol addiction.
"Oh shit, I totally forgot about that! Well, then let's NOT get drunk" he tried to fix it and looked guilty.
"I'm sorry" he apologized.
"It's okay" I said and smiled at him. I wonder if there'll actually be alcohol....I don't think so.
"Well, I'm gonna put on my lip stick so you won't get hard kisses anymore" I informed him when I walked into the bathroom. I heard some steps and soon after I had some lips crashed hard against mine. Of course it was Vic stealing the last hard kiss.
"I just had to" he said when he pulled away and walked back in the bedroom. I laughed and shook my head before I put my lip stick on.
After some more minutes we had to leave for the ceremony. I was kinda glad that I wasn't the Maid Of Honor because I was way too lazy the past days to even get up from the bed, so I would've failed horribly at organizing a stag party and even walk down this way in the church.
The church was a bit outside from San Diego so we drove a while until we finally parked the car in front of it. We were a bit early so we had good seats in the front. While waiting for the ceremony to finally start, I couldn't find my parents anywhere. I thought that he maybe wouldn't invite them because they've never really been parents to both of us. I don't think that I would invite them to my wedding.
The ceremony was really romantic and cute. I have to admit, that I had to cry almost during the whole thing. One time Vic bend over to me and whispered in my ear: "Someday this will be us standing there" which confused me a bit but also made be really happy. I didn't really answer to that but just smiled at him. I didn't know what that meant? Like was he asking me now to marry him or did he just want to say that he's sure about us getting married someday but just not yet? I pretty much spend the rest of the ceremony thinking about this but then could distract me by concentrating to Sam and Laurie. Laurie was wearing a really beautiful white dress. At the top it was like a tank top and the whole dress was plain white. It had some fabric-roses somewhere and other nice things. To this she was wearing a simple pearl necklace which just made everything look even better. Her hair was simple, curled and her bangs were put to the back. I couldn't see her shoes but I bet they were just perfect. Sam was wearing tuxedo. It was black with a white button-down and a white fly. The fly was exactly the same color as Laurie's dress. His hair was well styled, with a bit gel making it look a bit wild. His shoes were black and probably polished.
"TO THE FRESHLY MARRIED COUPLE!" some guy shouted and we all lifted our glasses (of champagne! Except of Laurie and Sam of course) and cheered. I didn't know most of the people, I guessed most of them were friends from Laurie since Sam was never really social.
We drank our champagne and just chatted with everyone. Laurie and Sam just walked from people to people to thank everyone for coming and what's gonna happen next and bla bla bla. When they came to Vic and me, his before fake-smile turned into a real smile.
"Jody! I'm so glad to see you here!" he cheered and hugged me.
"Hi Sam! This is my boyfriend Vic. Vic, this is my brother Sam" I introduced them and they shook hands.
"I'm glad that we finally meet! Jody has told a lot about you" Sam said and smiled at him.
"Well, same here" Vic answered.
"Oh and this is my beautiful wife Laurie" Sam introduced her to Vic. They also shook hands and exchanged smiles. Then Laurie hugged me and we started talking about girly-stuff while Sam kinda checked out Vic. He probably asked him everything about his job,...well probably everything about his life. Well, Vic had to get through that.
When they finished talking, or better when Sam had all his questions answered, they told us that dinner would be next and then a band will be playing and then it's just talking and stuff. Then they walked away to go to the others.
"What did he ask you?" I asked Vic when they were gone.
"Ah, just stuff like what I do for a living and stuff like that" he answered and took a sip from his champagne. I nodded and did the same.
We just stayed for us the whole day since we just knew Laurie and Sam and they were all the time busy talking to other people. After the dinner (which was really good!) this band started playing. It was a Jazz band and they were really good. I even could persuade Vic to dance with me at a slow song.
"What did you mean with that thing earlier?" I asked him because this question still didn't left me.
"What?" he asked.
"That thing that this will be us someday" I said.
"Hey look there's cake!" he tried to distract me.
"Vic."
"Okay. Well, I don't really know...it's just...lately I've been thinking a lot about this, marriage and family and all that stuff. And I realized that there's only one person on this world I could imagine those things with. This person is you." Woah, wow.
"I don't know what to say...is this now a proposal?"
"No no, it's just a realization. I don't wanna rush anything. I just wanna look how it works with us living together and then...who knows." I smiled at him and still didn't really know what to say. So I just kissed him softly, so my lip stick won't stick on his lips.
"We'll see about that" I kinda agreed which made him smile. Marrying Vic? Hm.
(A/N: Vic and Jody marrying: yes or no? comment below ;) okay, I have two weeks holidays now and I'm trying to write and maybe even finish this story since there's not too much I planned with it.
