Jody's POV

some weeks later...

I opened my eyes was immediately wide awake. I looked around in the room. It was Vic's bedroom and he was lying next to me and snoring in peace. His arm was around my waist. I turned on my back and breathed out, putting the backs of my hands on my forehead. The darkness outside told me, that it was still night. It was always like this; I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep. I carefully pushed Vic's arm away from my waist, trying not to wake him up. Pulling the blanket off of my body, I got up and left the room. I walked down the stairs and entered the kitchen. Luckily his coffee machine wasn't loud, so I could make myself a coffee. I couldn't fall asleep anyway, so the caffeine wouldn't hurt me. With the mug in my hand, I walked out to the porch in the back of the house. I was wearing one of Vic's shirt and some pyjama trousers, so I wasn't cold. I took a sip from the coffee, stood in front of the fence of the porch and watched the garden. Everything was still dark and you could barely see the neighbour's houses. There was a light fog covering some of the garden. This silence felt so good and I enjoyed this moment. Lately my job was been really stressful, like everyone wants a new instrument and I sometimes have to take someone else's shift because they can't or something else. And then I got this letter yesterday. From my Mom. My relationship to my parents was never the best and since I've moved out, I was barely in contact with them. So this letter was hitting me like a rock. Especially what she wrote in it. She was first just apologizing for what happened when I was a teenager and that she would change it if she could. I first thought that this was another try of her to make her own mind clear, but then I read the last part of the letter and I couldn't believe what she was writing there. Actually, she can't do anything against that what she wrote, it's a fact that happened and that "fact" was terrible.

"What are you doing here?" a voice asked behind me, before I felt two strong arms being wrapped around my waist. I turned my head, realizing the person was Vic and smiled at him.

"Ah, I just couldn't sleep...again. But why are you awake?" I asked him when he kissed my neck.

"I smelt coffee" he simply said and nodded towards the mug in my hand.

"Oh, sorry about that" I apologized but he waved it away, telling me that it was okay. We stood there for a couple of minutes and just watched the emptiness. Just now I realized that he was just wearing some pants and was shirtless. He must've been so cold!

"Let's go to bed before you freeze and you need your sleep for the studio" I whispered back to him and he nodded. He let me go from his grib and we walked upstairs, after I put the mug on the dining table. He lay down next to me, pulled me on his chest and pecked my lips before we both closed our eyes. I couldn't fall asleep, because I lost my mind to that letter. Vic didn't know about it, I didn't tell him yet. First I had to tell him everything that happened in my past. Without that knowing, he wouldn't understand the letter. The letter just arrived yesterday morning but I already feel bad because he doesn't know about it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This time I woke up because of the sun. Okay, it wasn't really a waking up, because I was just half asleep. It seemed like Vic and me forgot to close the curtains last night. I rubbed my eyes and turned my body to the direction where Vic should've been lying. But instead of Vic was a letter lying next to me. I took it and read.
I already needed to go to the studio. Hope you could sleep this time. See you tonight.
Vic xoxo
I smiled, but I was still a bit upset that I couldn't wake up with him next to me. But it was weird that i didn't notice his leaving through my half-sleep. I got up and walked yawning down the stairs. Another day of work and I hope that it won't be that stressful like the last ones. I first drank a couple of coffees before I prepared myself for going to work. This morning, I applied some more make-up in the hope that you won't see that I didn't really got sleep that and the last nights. When I was ready, I took everything I needed and left the house. I drove to work in my car while I was listening to the shitty music on the radio. Radio is horrible.
