Vic's POV

I drove along the streets to her house. I remembered the way, even though I just drove there once. But it somehow burnt into my mind. Weird, huh? I know, but weird things are better than normal things. I pulled in her driveway and stopped my car. I stepped out, closed the door behind me, walked to her door and knocked on it. I could hear music stream through the house and then some steps coming closer. The door opened and a smiling Jody stood behind it.
"Hi. Ready?" I asked and she nodded. She walked back in the living room, turned her CD-player off and took her bag.
"Ready."
We sat in the two front seats and I drove us to the next Apple store. While driving, we talked about different things.
"So, what do you do for a living?" I asked. I wanted to tell her about my job, to see her reaction. So I'm hopefully gonna see or notice if Mike was right or not.
"I'm working at a music store not far from here. It's called Get Your Rhythm and I'm kind of the piano, keyboard and microphone expert. What about you?" she explained and smiled while talking about it. It seems like she really likes her job.
"Well, I'm a musician." Her eyes lit up and her eyebrows raised upwards.
"Oh really? What do you do? Are you in a band or something?"
"Yeah I am. I'm the singer and guitarist. My brother Mike is the drummer, Jaime, you met when I carried your friend in your house, is our bassist and then we have another guitarist called Tony."
"Wow, that sounds really cool. Are you guys successful?"
"Yeah, we actually are. My band is called Pierce The Veil and we've been touring a lot and actually have a big fanbase."
"Oh, I think I've read about you in a magazine. I knew that I knew you from somewhere, but I just didn't know from where." So, she sort of knows me, but not like 'omg I know you!', it was a 'I've already seen you somewhere'. Now I even more wanted to get her known more.
"Yeah, that can be. We're a lot in magazines these days, because we're working on our next album."
"That sounds really cool."
"Yeah, it's really cool. If you want, I could give you our CD's and you can listen to us."
"Yes, that would be pretty cool! I love it go check out new bands." She smiled at me and I smiled back. We arrived at the Apple store and walked inside. We talked to the shop assistant for some minutes, telling him what we wanted, then he showed us all the different iPods. At the end, Jody picked the newest iPod Nano in pink. I paid for it, and then we already left the store, not really believing that I just paid for something pink. Outside I've got a hug from Jody and she whispered "thank you" in my ear. Damn, her voice was awesome. When she pulled away, we smiled at each other.
"So, what do you want to do now?" I asked her. She looked around and then upwards to the sun.
"I want some ice cream" she told and smiled at me. She seemed way more confident than she used to when I met her. We walked to the next ice cream stand and I bought for both of us an ice cream, not letting her pay it, even when she was kind of begging for it. But I didn't let her. When we had our ice cream, we walked around in the park, which was just some minutes away from the ice cream stand.
"Soooo, is Mike your only sibling?" she tried to start a conversation.
"Yes, he is. Do you have any siblings?" I asked.
"Yeah, I have an older brother. How old are you actually?"
"I'm 29."
"What? Really?! Damn, you look like you're 23 or something like that!"
"Well, I get that a lot. Especially from fans. How old are you?"
"I'm 26. How is it actually? Being a famous musician I mean."
"Well, sometimes you wish that you never have to end being on tour and that every show lasts forever. But there are also those parts where you wanna be normal for once, you know? Where you just can enjoy everything without suddenly a camera or a fan in front of your face. Don't get me wrong, our fans are amazing, they really are, but sometimes you just wanna be alone."
"I can understand that. It has to be really exhausting to be so much on tour."
"Yeah it is. But I love it. It's that what I wanna do for the rest of my life. I never wanna stop playing music and well, saving lives." Some kids were running around our legs and I could hear some mothers shouting after them and telling them not to run around strangers.
"That has to be amazing. I'm sort of stuck here in San Diego. I actually always wanted to travel around the world and just being me. But I never had money for that, well I spent it into my house I bought some months ago. Don't get me wrong, it was really worth the money and the wait, but I still wanna experience the world and see what's happening out there. But I also never had the courage to do it."
"Why not?"
"I was never an outgoing person. I've ever had troubles at trusting people, that's why I'm so shy. I mean, I didn't really trust my family when I was a teenager. I always thought that they never really loved me because they were working the whole day and that my whole child- and teenage-hood. I was always alone."
"What about your brother?"
"He wasn't really home either. He...he was...doing something else." We stopped walking and she looked at the ground. Probably trying to hide the tears in her eyes, but I've already seen them. I walked closer to her and pulled her into a hug. She put her face into my shoulder and I rubbed her back.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that this is such a big thing for you" I apologized. She pulled away and shook her head, telling me that I shouldn't mind.
