chapter 4: the tomato soup cosplay

"why do you think trelawney smells like weed?" george asked, in response to my rant about how useless the subject was.

i felt myself cracking up, it had been about a day since classes had begun at hogwarts. nothing too much had happened yet but ranting to george and him doing the same was a weird ritual we had and would try and do it atleast once each day.

it was currently lunch and i was sitting next to george with lee on my other side. fred was sitting on the other side of george and flirting with angelina. i had harry, ron and hermoine right in front of me. 

"luna, i need to tell you something, quick!" ginny came up behind me from nowhere, and tugged on the back of my shirt

"gin please, lunch is our time. talk to her later, i want to tell luna about our next prank now" george told ginny while putting a few pieces of my favourite out of the food we had in front of us on my plate.

"oh please, you can survive without talking to her for once. george there are other people look around you, i know you think of her as your world but i can assure you there are others in it as well" ginny snapped back with the famous weasley smirk

"wha- thats just- i didnt-" george started sputtering and soon his pale freckled face was considerably a much redder colour.

"guys,is it just me or does it look like george is trying to copy the tomato soup?"fred remarked, making the rest of them snicker

"okay we get it, yes george and luna in loveee. honestly its getting a bit repetetive now guys-"

i continued, turning towards george

"ill be right back alright, i'll hear all about the prank" i said and patted his head while getting up and going over with ginny at the corner

meanwhile, (3rd person pov)

george kept staring after luna as she walked away with a dazed smile on his face.

"earth to george, stop staring at my sister's ass" harry told george, 

harry and luna would often refer to each other as siblings as they had a pretty similar relationship, and more so luna told harry that she could be his sister after learning in 2nd year how he always wanted one as dudley was horrific to him.

"i wasn't staring at her ass, scarhead" george responded quickly

"honestly make a move, you've had such a prominent crush on her for possibly years. i think everyone knows at this point, except her" ron remarked

"well-" before george could say more, he was interrupted by dean thomas,

 who has liked luna for a while now too, even going as far as to telling her on multiple occassions but luna repeatedly telling him how he's just a friend and that she considers herself far too young to be dating

"george is in his 5th year, she's in her 3rd. isnt that a bit weird honestly?" dean butted in

"well luna is the oldest among us 3rd years, she was born in the same year as i was. 1979, 10th of september. so they really just have a one year gap" hermoine explained

dean grumbled for a while and then left to talk to seamus, luna returned after a couple of seconds and sat down next to george again,

"so tell me about this plan georgette" luna said facing towards george completely, a clear smile etched on his face as he excitedly started explaining the said prank

"holy crap, they're oblivious" lee mouthed to the others, while they all nodded in response.
