chapter 7: the marauders map

"he's miserable, we ought to atleast lend him the map." luna told the twins

"i agree, he pretends to not really care but you can tell by his face exactly how badly he wants to go" fred agreed with luna,

it was the day of the 2nd hogsmeade trip, most of the students including ron and hermoine  were already off, luna had momentarily stayed back with the twins and xavier to execute a prank which included transforming the dark slytherin dungeons into the barbie dreamhouse 

(which george had told atleast 7 times, how it wasn't much of a prank because of how awesome it ended up looking)

"i dont know about you guys but i think i see harry trying to get past filch" george pointed out to the courtyard floor, where sudden footprints were appearing on the snow.

"clever harry-" fred started

"-but not clever enough" george finished

they both took either of harry's arms and dragged his invisible body to where luna and xavier were laughing, harry ripped his cloak off-

"guys just let me go- luna? you didn't go with ron and hermoine?" harry asked irritatedly at first and then looked upon luna curiously

"well, i had some business here to deal with along with the twins and my dear brother. and also i assumed they'd like the alone time" luna explained with a small smile

"you've noticed it too? oh yeah they definitely secretly fancy each other but themselves have no idea about their feelings" harry said with a nod

"okay now the reason the twins dragged you here, we have a gift for you. now keep in mind this is an extremely important document that has helped us in just so so many ways" xavier told harry

fred presented the piece of parchmment from behind his back-

"what's this rubbish?" harry asked

"rubbish he says? harry this is an absolute masterpiece. this is THE marauders map" fred exclaimed

"to reveal it, you must tap it 3 times and say-" george started,

and then luna, xavier and fred joined in to say it together-

"-i solemnly swear that i am upto no good"

harry saw the map was a map of hogwarts that showed little labels with names of people just moving about-

"there is NO way this map shows-" harry began

"everyone, everywhere, anytime and to turn it back into a plain old parchment just tap on it 3 times and say-" luna said

"mischief managed"

"okay now harry, me and you, we'll take this path from the one eyed witches' passage, xavier will you be coming along?" luna said

"no, not today, gotta go help justin out. he's supposed to ask a girl out or atleast attempt to" he explained

"and the twins have some unfinished business so they'll just stay back at the castle, right boys?" luna asked

"right you are, ma'am" george said while patting the smaller girl's head

"-alright then potter, let's get going" luna said excitedly

after harry and luna had succesfully pantsed crabbe and goyle, and scaring the wits out of malfoy from under the invisibility cloak-

"that was brilliant but luna, harry shouldn't be here. he could get into serious trouble" hermoine told the friends

"well we have this-" harry quickly pulled out the map and explained the mechanism to ron and hermoine
