chapter 13: the dream

saying the gryffindors were pleased with their win against ravenclaw would be an understatement.

it wasn't until the joint effort of percy and professor mcgonagall (a bit of detention related blackmail on her part) that students began to return to their dorm rooms after having a frivolously exagerated 'get together' as the weasley twins liked to call it.

they basically had a full blown party and called it a get together to try and make it seem more innocent than it really was, the passed out students along with mysterious arrivals of empty bottles of firewhiskey at random corners in the common room proved it so. 

although, luna and her friends hadn't resorted to drinking, they did thoroughly enjoy the party. much to luna's dismay, she could not interact much with either of the twins throughout the party since they always seemed to be going about here and there. she could tell george was thoroughly enjoying himself hence didn't reach out specifically but only if she payed more attention she would notice the relegious glances he would make towards luna, herself. 

needless to say, they partied and it was enjoyed by everyone. even hermoine and ron seemed to have calmed down a bit after their row but the tension was still present.

at about half past 3, luna fell off her bed due to the familiar shrieks of one of her best friends. she quickly got up, noticing how her other dorm mates had too and realised it sounded much similar to the wails she heard the previous night instead this was a lot more anxiety-filled rather than resentment or anger.

the girls quickly got out of their dorm room, entering their common room. they noticed the presence of almost the entire house with a very disheveled/confused harry standing in the middle with a frightened looking ron who seemed to look visibly pale.

hermoine and luna quickly rushed through the crowd to get to the middle.

"ron! harry! what is going on?" hermoine asked

but before harry could respond, everyone turned to see the door open to the common room and a very tired professor mcgonagall walk in, her appearence was quick to be noticed, as for the first time the students saw the head of their house with her hair let down.

"what is this?" professor mcgonagall asked, looking furious

"percy, i asked you to make sure all the students returned to their beds! i understand its a joyous occassion but this is far beyond the limit!"

before percy could explain how 'stupid and paranoid' ron was being as a result of having too many candies, ron chimed in himself 

"professor, you have to believe me. i saw him" he pleaded

"saw who?"

"SIRIUS BLACK, i swear he broke into our tower. he slashed the curtain near my bed, you can even go and see it!"

"well- let's just ask sir cadogan" the professor suggested quickly.

much to the students dismay it was revealed that he did let sirius black in and poor neville had been given a week's worth of detention for misplacing his list of passwords that had led sirius black to enter the room in the first place.

the looming fear was evident but what shocked luna the most was the weird recollection of the dream she had woken up from to ron's voice.

"isn't she just beautiful?"

"just like you, cece"

"i think i just threw up just now" she heard the familiar voice of her professor lupin, it was different though. he simply sounded a lot happier? luna could not make out the difference but the resemblance was uncanny
