chapter 15: bleached,evil cockroach

"come to enjoy the show?" 

the quartet on their way to hagrid's had unpleasently ran into draco malfoy and his 2 minions, crouching behind a boulder and laughing amongst themselves, clearly there to witness the execution.

luna couldn't help but grimace in disapproval at the thought of someone who could actually enjoy something so vile.

"you foul, bleached, evil cockroach!" and before any of them could do anything hermoine had her wand pointed at malfoy's throat, inching concerningly close to his adam's apple, daring him to mutter anything at all.

"mu-"  and before he could call hermoine the slur, he was faced with another wand that belonged to luna.

"i literally am daring you to finish that" luna said in a tone that lacked any warmth the girl usually carried within herself, 

"how stupid do you have to be, to call one of the brightest witches at hogwarts a slur, all while she's pointing her wand at your throat?" she continued in the same tone

draco couldn't help but gulp visibly upon noticing the look the two witches were giving him.

"leave it girls, he's not worth our time" ron said whilst putting a hand on each of the girls' arm gently, 

while this led the two girls to lower their wands and allow draco to sigh in relief. it seemed hermoine had different plans. as soon as the quartet had turned their backs to the 2 slytherins, she had turned back and swiftly punched the malfoy square on his nose, leading him to groan in pain.

this finally led the 3 slytherins to run off towards hogwarts, whilst draco ran with his hand to his nose. hermoine noticed the wide eyes of her best friends, "he deserved it, what?" she asked 

"no its just- im trying so hard not to kiss you" luna said while harry simply looked at the girl in a mix of surprise and admiration.

"remind me to never mess with you ever 'mione" ron added, 

the 4 friends continued towards hagrid's while luna,harry and ron kept talking about how badass the previous encounter was , while also asking several questions like-

"where'd you learn such a mean left hook?"

"how is your form so good?"

"could you possibly teach me how to cleansweep someone's nose like you just did?"

upon reaching their giant friends' cabin they were met with his concerns on how they should not be there. the quartet quickly noticed the distraught within hagrid, they tried reasoning ways to save buckbeak by suggesting setting him free but it was met by reprimands from hagrid who did not want dumbledore to be blamed for it.

hagrid also surprised the group by returning scabbers to ron, claiming he had found the rat lurking about.

"now, don' you think you should be apologisin' to someone, ron?" hagrid asked expectantly

"oh yeah right, ill apologise to crookshanks when i return to the castle" he quickly said to which luna and harry couldn't help but chuckle at their friend's stubborness

hermione simply narrowed her eyes at the redhead showing her clear irritation, ron met her eyes and simply gave her a dopey smile which was basically a silent apology although the two had already fixed things within themselves before itself.

while they conversed, a random rock hit harry on his head, which led the friends to sneak out since they were met with the sight of the ministry officials which unpleasently had lucius malfoy too coming towards the hut. dumbledore also seemed to be with them.
