chapter 20: the reunion

cedric had been kind enough to pick up both xavier and luna from their house and then allow luna to use the fireplace in his house to floo over to the weasley's.

"i genuinely think you should try out for quidditch this season, luna" cedric said, while he passed along a glass of orange juice to the girl.

they had just arrived at the diggory residency and both mr and mrs diggory along with cedric, himself had been adamant on not allowing the girl to leave for the weasley's without staying back and chatting for a while.

ever since xavier and cedric became close friends, luna and xavier would often get invited for dinner by cedric's parents or the diggory family would often go over to theirs as per their invites. both families were quite familiar with one another and fond too.

"i agree with ced, i still remember you playing with him and xav one of the summers at our porch. you were great!" mr diggory commented

"same goes for you, xavier. you have some amazing keeper skills! but im sure there is no need of convincing you for try outs, right?"

"yes, ill be trying out for the hufflepuff team this year. i think luna should too" xavier said as he took a sip of his cold orange juice

"i mean- i dont know, ive never given much thought into it. i do thoroughly enjoying playing with my friends though" luna said

"well, lucky for you. you are practically friends with everyone on the gryffindor team, i say go for it lunz" cedric encouraged

the diggory family along with the twins spoke for about 20 more minutes, until luna suggested leaving for the weasley's much to cedric and his parents' dismay since they quite enjoyed the girl's presence.

"be careful, yeah?" cedric handed over some floo powder to luna

"ofcourse, see you at the worldcup ced"

"yeah, bye xavier, my own blood brother ill miss so much" xavier commented from the side to which luna simply rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at him

"the burrow!"

"a very dusty landing there, miss adams" luna heard ron's voice, as she opened her eyes taking in the familiar- warm and cozy surroundings of the inside of the burrow.

she quickly wrapped her arms around her best friend, "oh my god, you are so lucky i love you. im covered in soot now!"

"if it helps, this look 'soot-s' you" luna began giggling before she could even get out all her words

"get it ronald, because 'suits' and 'soots', oh my god" hermoine laughed out while excitedly jogging towards luna

the two girls quickly wrapped into a hug, but not before hermoine dusted off the excess soot from luna's face and shirt.

"i missed you so much, mione" luna hummed into the hug while the two girls lightly swayed

"i miss you more" 

"LUNA?!!!" luna barely got 2 seconds to herself as hermoine let go of her before mrs weasley crushed her into a hug.

"you are so grown up now! how is this even possible? i just saw you a little while back"

"and you look 25, how are you a mother to all these evil spawns!" luna chirped back to which molly simply giggled, being used to the girl's antics and absolutely adoring them.

"did i hear luna-" harry and ginny said in chorus, only to end up sheepishly laughing at each other.

as she greeted her friends, she couldn't help but seem visibly dissapointed due to the abscence or lack of fred and george around her.

"if you are wondering where the maniacs are, they're outside. mrs weasley kind of went bezerk on them after the incident with my lovely cousin. personally i loved it, that git kinda deserved it." harry whispered to luna
