chapter 29: the confession

"george!" luna basically almost chased after george,

 it seemed that right after his meal he stood up and started speed walking to god knows where. while luna being luna would not leave him and had made up her mind to want to talk to him.

george seemed to somehow contrastingly want nothing more than to get away from the girl he couldn't get enough of.

"stupid long legged weird cute ass tall boy, he's definitely doing this on purpose" luna angrily muttered, she recognised the way and could tell he was walking towards the astronomy tower. she stopped to catch her breath for a while and lo and behold lost sight of the red head

"this bitch." as soon as luna said this to herself she heard a laugh from her side, fred's

"wow, a sweaty luna panting and muttering 'this bitch' to herself in a deserted corridoor is weirdly funnier than it actually sounds" he said

"what is the matter with your brother? cedric flirted with me, BIG DEAL! he flirts with a lot of people and besides he literally is aware that george and i have something going on" luna ranted 

"wait, you told him? that you both kissed?"

"no, but he just assumes i guess that we're into each other to a certain extent. although, last he asked i very clearly denied. but he must know, right?" 

"look, whatever it is. when it comes to you george is quite sensitive, he isn't the toxic or excessive jealous type for sure but he's as confused and scared as you are. he really likes you luna and i guess seeing diggory and you together sort of overwhelmed him into being mad at you in a way thinking you guys don't mean much, atleast to you."

"i- i should go speak to him" luna sighed

"go get your man, girl!" fred said in a girlish tone and pretend to swish his hair back

"alright ew"

with that luna ran to the astronomy tower, seeing as it had gotten dark she could just only make out the faint silhouette of george. she simply walked up to him and stood next to him, gazing at the sky.

after a few moments of silence and luna catching her breath and internally concluding that she was definitely not the most athletic in terms of running.

"hi" luna almost whispered

"hm" george simply grunted back, hearing this luna faced towards the taller boy

"george, come on. talk to me" luna insisted, leaning up to touch his face gently. he instantly softened up upon feeling her warm, delicate hand on his face and leaned towards it.
george couldn't contain himself any longer. here he was mad at the girl 2 seconds ago while now he wants nothing more but to snog her to oblivion just by one glance at her face.

he leaned down but stopped right as their lips were inches apart to take a breath, luna shivered under his intense gaze and hot breath fanning on her lips. she pulled him towards herself by tugging on his tie and instantly the two teens had their lips merged passionately.

the way they kissed before was sweet, meaningful and warm while this was more feverent, hungry and fiery.

luna's soft groan upon feeling george grip onto her waist and push his tongue into her welcoming mouth only made him more and more riled up.
eventually the two pulled away slightly whilst resting their forehead on one another's comfortably despite the height difference. luna was too flustered to open her eyes and look at george, her childhood best friend whom she's had a crush on since the time she was a 12 year old, who she just made out with. MADE OUT.
while george couldn't help but stare at the girl, he wondered how much more attractive she could get. from being his literal sun to making him feel weak in the knees, merlin was he whipped.

"lunz" george gently spoke up, after a while of them staying in their previous position just basking in each other's presence and processing what the fuck just happened.

"im sorry- it's just. i know we aren't even dating, i have no right to act this way. i just, i dont know i felt bad i guess." george rambled

"hey- it's alright. don't worry about it. just please don't be mad at me anymore" luna said in such a tone that made george almost melt,
"luna, i can literally never be mad at you. i was just annoyed that diggory did that, i was never mad at you for it. i guess it came off that way because of my very mature stomping up to the astronomy tower. you could say i was jealous" george professed

"i- let's just talk about..stuff" 

"stuff?" george smirked, noticing her looking at anywhere but him 

"well. you know stuff" luna irritatedly said while looking away towards the sky, not wanting to let george notice her flustered state just by the mere mention of talking about 'them'

"oh my god, lunz. are you shy?" george teased the girl, knowing full well he was enjoying getting this reaction out of the girl

"shut up, mr imma stomp out of the hall because cedric winked at me" luna immediatly retaliated, knowing george would continue teasing since debarring all the feelings and stuff they were obviously best friends and that's what best friends do.

"OKAY OKAY!" george shushed her 
"I want you to be mine..lunz, I search for you in every room I enter. I crave to be around you every minute of the day.
your smile. merlin, your smile. I could do anything for that bloody sunshine smile of yours.
I just- I don't know lunz. it's a lot and I don't want to scare you by being too much but what I feel for you..." he tried carrying on but just stopped when he noticed the look on the girls face.
she was smiling with such adoration in her eyes that he felt like he could literally jump off the tower and nothing would happen to him.

"george i- you're everything. i want you and only you. just saying this is making the butterflies in my stomach go crazy but you deserve to hear this hence I'll power through" luna said with a small laugh while george felt like he was on cloud 9 smiling like an idiot

"I want us to be it. let's not fuck this up lunz"
"it won't, georgie"
george cleared his throat and suddenly went on his right knee while luna simply stared at him with wide eyes and couldn't help but laugh at his unpredictable nature.

"ahem ahem, ms adams? would you do me the absolute pleasure and go to hogsmeade for a date with me?" george asked with an excessive posh accent
"well. ill have to check my schedule but i guess I can make time for you" luna said jokingly acting uninterested while smiling much too wide despite trying not to
"why, that is so nice of you" george replied with a small laugh.

the two best friends, now something more , spend the rest of their time of the day just wrapped up in each other's arms and joking and talking about anything and everything. so much like the usual, except now there were many random pecks, hand holding and such involved.
luna made a mental note stating
'literally the best day ever'
