aunt susan was currently sipping on chamomile tea,
luna and xavier observed the older lady, fiddle with her weirdly shaped, dangly earring while swiftly but surely dipping her cookie into the tea and biting into it carefully, making sure not to spill crumbs,
the twins sat awkwardly in front of her, they looked at each other and it seemed xavier through his eyes encouraged his sister to speak out to which she rolled and pointed her eyes to him in a way of saying- 'no you do it, dumbass' without actually saying it.
"this is my 3rd cookie, my tea is getting cold. are you guys ever going to speak up?" they heard their aunt say while keeping her focus on her half finished cookie
"uhm- well-"
"alright if you guys are going to be weird about it, ill start.
black's back, your biological father is a serial killer" the older lady tried continuing, but was corrected by xavier
"-accused. falsely accused serial killer"
"yeah yeah, whatever."
"its- its not whatever, he's a good man. he didn't deserve that" the twins heard their ma speak up,
over the span of their summer break, the twins had contacted sirius through letters a few times. he informed them that wherever he was, he was safe and alright. he had also taken the liberty of writing to the twins' ma and pa, both of whom were eager upon responding back to their childrens' biological father. it greatly amused and satisfied luna and xavier that their ma and pa were as accepting of sirius as they had been, feeling sympathetic towards the man yet also admiring his courage.
"theresa.
did you call me here because you all wanted to worship black? " aunt susan asked irritatedly
"no that's not-" xavier began
the older lady was always considered a bit hot tempered, though the family kept in touch with her and so did she, it was a wonder to the adams family as she never seemed fond of them but yet kept in touch.
despite having an irritated nature, the twins having grown up frequently visiting her had grown to be fond of the lady and nevertheless she never visited for more than a few hours at one time hence it never bothered them much.
additionally, the twins had been informed by their ma and pa at a very early age of the misfortunes the older lady has had to go through.
theresa and william adams knew marlene mckinnon as she was theresa's first cousin. she had even visited their wedding as she shared a close bond with theresa. around the last few years of her life, marlene had struggled to be in contact with anyone really having to be constantly in hiding hence the cousins were on little to no terms at the time of her passing away.
despite this the news greatly shocked theresa and william both. they were informed that marlene had died in a fatal car accident. theresa and william felt extreme grief upon the knowledge of the news but had quickly taken upon themselves to not allow susan, marlene's mother and theresa's mother's sister to isolate herself, not really having any family to rely upon anymore.
theresa knew of her cousin doing her education in a boarding school far out from where they initially stayed, but had absolutely no clue she was magical. she had always been given little to no information of it, hence never doubted a thing.
"why do you seem to dislike us, aunt susan?" luna asked quietly, the older lady raised an eyebrow and looked at the girl questioningly
"dislike you all?"
