chapter 19: george's invite

dear lunz,

merlin, i miss your stupid face so much its not even funny.
fred and i have developed so many new products that we'd love for you to go through with us. we tried one in particular on harry's cousin, worked PERFECTLY. his tongue was apparently longer than 7cm!! needless to say mum was not happy, but I think it was worth it.
my dad has gotten his hands on a good number of tickets for the quidditch world cup, im so excited. I'm sure you'd be receiving a similar letter from ronniekins asking you to tag along but mine isn't a request, it's a demand. it's been far too long lunz since we hung out.
do ask your parents, xav could tag along too.

luna couldn't help but give out an audible chuckle upon reading the phrase, 'useless plantlet'.
"what does that even mean?" she muttered to herself.
"what does what mean?" luna's pa asked while he helped his wife set up the dining table
"george. he called me a useless plantlet"

"ah well...yeah. makes sense" the older man replied, a little to casually for luna's liking.
"what?"
"yeah, hey theresa doesn't luna and a useless plantlet make sense?"
she looked up from the bowl of soup she was stirring, "huh yeah actually!"
"how in the world does useless plantlet and i make sense? what!!"
"did someone say useless plantlet? that's so luna, wow" xavier said while stepping into the dining area having been in his room packing since he was going to leave for cedric's house the next day morning to attend the quidditch worldcup along with him.

because of this reason, luna was well confirmed in the fact that once she asks her parents they would allow her to go over to the weasley's as well.

"ma, pa. could I possibly go to the worldcup with the weasley's? they invited me to go along with them." luna asked while walking over to help.
"aw, you're gonna leave us early too" her pa sighed
"will, don't be like that. you know how guilty she feels over small things."
"no honestly, im not fond of the idea of leaving you both early either-"
"but it's the worldcup luna!! you can't miss it, if it's anything like our non-magic games worldcups it must only take place once in a few years. hence you have to" william insisted,
"besides that was just a joke, I absolutely do not mind that my daughter and son are not going to be spending the last 3 days of their months long holiday with us. im just glad you guys are having fun and so proud of you both for fitting in so well, taken in regards to all the crazy revelations this last term"
"I completely agree with your father, you really should go luna. make sure to send us pictures too! oh! could u try and make them moving ones?"
"ofcourse ma! you won't even feel like you haven't gone to the worldcup yourself. and besides i was thinking of coming back home right after we return from watching the match, so as to spend my last day here with you and pa" luna said
"oh you know what, that's a good idea. i will do so too. ill return with luna to spend the last day at home" xavier said
"oh then wonderful! sounds perfect" william exclaimed
"I agree, also dear make sure to send a letter back to george appreciating him for the invite and do take my letter for molly when u send it off too.
i just finished writing my response to her last letter to me-"

molly and theresa had developed an extremely cute friendship over the years, the women bonded over many things. it wasn't uncommon for the 2 families to randomly hear of an impromptu trip to a 'pretty cafe' or 'mall' within the two women. although molly was fairly confused by most concepts at first, theresa took her time explaining every single thing to her friend having genuinely appreciating their friendship a lot.

"-just make sure to be extra careful, we give you freedom and we expect...?"
"responsibility and honesty" xavier and luna chorused having heard the same saying from their parents since their childhood.

"honestly lunz you just had to tag along, didn't you?" xavier teased his sister, jokingly.
"what can I say dear brother, I just adore you so much" and with that luna engulfed xavier into a tight bear hug knowing how he claimed to hate them but never put up much of a struggle against it.
"oh my god, get off me you oaf"
"we look very alike xav."
which was met by a scowl on xavier's face
"ya know, they invited you too. george said you could come along if you wanted to as well."
" yeah i know, they're all far too kind and im far too awesome to not be invited"
"you forgot to mention humble"
"ah yes, ofcourse"
and with that the two siblings finished packing and went to bed excitedly, imagining how the worlcup would be.
luna won't admit but she spent maybe a little extra time thinking of how it'll be meeting george again after months.
