My alarm goes off and I forgot I had to set it. school. I get out if bed and change into yoga pants with a peach sweater. I brush my hair and put it into a French braid and walk downstairs. my mom smiles at me, but I just stare at her, not returning her smile. I grave a piece if toast and walk to the door.
I'm going to walk." I say, my voice emotionless. I tug open the door and walk outside. the light breeze kisses my face, pulling at the extra frizz around my face. I take a breath and jump down the stairs, my messenger bag banging against my side. My breath is barely visible. my foux riding boots making crunching sound through the tiny path of gravel. I see Daniel walking farther down the road. I smile.
"hey! Wait up!" I call, jogging up to him. he smiles.
"You walking too?" I nod. Daniels eyes are on my braid. "like your braid." I blush, slightly, silently praying he can't see.
"Thanks." Daniel leans in close to me, and I can see his green eyes like meadows.
"Alex?" I gulp.
"Yeah?"
