I finish putting the reins over Rebels head and doing the nose and throat band. I take his reins and lead him into the arena. I guess this is my stable since I'm boarding Rebel here. I think. I grab a mounting block and swing myself into the saddle. I start with warm ups. I make a trotting circle and see the vertical jumps in the arena. almost as high as when I fell. I swallow the knot in my throat and move Rebel into a canter. I walk him when out instructor Ms. Sadey walks in. she smiles as we line the horses in front of her and speaks.
"Welcome to the first lesson back since school started." she starts "as you all know we have new boarders every year. today I would like to welcome Alex to the team." she smiles at me and all the riders turn in the saddle to see me. I smile, my cheeks getting warm. ms. Sadey continues. "alright you are all warmed up so today we will be jumping. Alley will go first then Alex, Jack, Maria and then Lily. Everyone move your horses to the fence and Alley, you can start when your ready." I move Rebel over to the fence and Watch alley ride. she is a beautiful jumper. her movements are strong and her timing is perfect. her ride doesn't seem to last long over the five jumps before it's my turn. I canter Rebel in a circle before going towards the first jump. I lift into the air and that's when I feel the adrenaline all over again
