It's gonna be weird going back to school. I know people will ask where I have been and I know it's too soon to talk about it. Dani even asked me out and told him. Daniels words interrupt my thoughts.
"So..." I look down at my light gray foux riding boots. "are we together now?" I smile.
"I don't know. you never asked me properly. I smile at him when his face turns red with blush.
"I-I..." I giggle. he's so cute when he stutters. "Well this is awkward." I slip my hand away from his and he gives me a questioning look.
"We can't hold hands if we're not together." I sang. Daniel sighs and looks at me.
"Alex-" I look into his eyes and his face turns a deeper red.
"Would you...Can you-" he takes a deep breath. "look I have never asked a girl out so I'm just gonna wing it."
"I'm listening." I finally say.
"Will you be my-my girl friend." my smile deepens.
"I thought you wouldn't ask." his face flushes with relief and he leans in. I look at him and step back
"We better go." I say and start walking ahead if him. I hear his foot steps and soon he is walking beside me. the walk seems to last just a couple minutes before I am standing in the school yard. and just as I guessed, people are casting me strange, questioning looks. then I feel an unfamiliar touch on my arm.
