The second I hit the floor I feel a tight un firmiliar grasp on my fore arm, pulling me to my feet. The force of the pull sends my flying forward. I expect myself to fall again, but the strong touch catches me once again, stabling me on my feet. I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and shuffle my feet, staring at the ground, embarrassed.
"Sorry my horse Rebel just-" I look up to see who saved me and stop mid sentence. a cute, tan boy, my age is standing there. his brown hair is spiked in a cliff in the front and he has emerald green eyes. Shut up! I scream at myself. "He just..." The boy interrupts me.
"It's okay, I saw." he smiles, showing perfect white teeth. "I'm Daniel." He looks at me and shifts when I don't answer. "your mom hired me as the knew stable hand around here." he extends his hand, and I feel my lips curve into a slim smile. my hand grabs his and he gives a firm shake.
"I'm Alex." I say once our hands drop. Daniels smile never leaves. I thought I wouldn't smile right when I got home, but I guess it's true. smiles never leave you and they definitely don't break. The silence is interrupted when Daniel clears his throat.
"I should really be getting back to work but uh.. I know I will see you around, knowing your mom owns the stable." I nod.
"Yeah. and hey, thanks for 'saving' me back there." Daniels smile widens.
"I guess you could call it that. bye." I feel my face burn.
"Yeah bye." I watch as he walks away.
What was that?! I never get embarrassed around boys!
A soft knicker brings me back to the real world. I look at Rebel. his head is bowed and I know he didn't mean to get spooked by me. I take half a step closer but don't move more.
"What happened to you boy?" I ask in a soft and shaky tone. as if hearing my voice helped him recognize me, he raises his head and his ears point forward. his soft brown eyes reflect my face and it's then I see myself. pink, with fear all over my face. I step forward again, seeing he doesn't flinch, I swing my arms around his neck, and cry with happiness.
Note: no this story will not be about boys either, it is still I horse book. I know I haven't described the characters at all, and I apologize, I will try to slowly add that In.
