The team doesn't have to meet at the arena until 12 am tomorrow so u take my time wandering around the barn to meet people. I am a social person but I hate it when I am a complete stranger. I see a girl in a wash stall, struggling to unclog both the lead lines from her wet horses halter. I walk up to her, putting on my friendly smile.
"Need help with that?" The girl looks up at me smiling and wiping her forehead with the back of her hand
"Your a life saver." she steps back and I easily undue the cross ties, holding the dapple grays halter under her chin. "thanks." the girl says taking the halter from me. "I'm alley." she extends her Han and I take it, blowing a piece of loose hair out of my face
"I'm Alex." i saw the name Alley on the sign up sheet. at least I will know one person. I clear my throat to break the small silence and my hand falls from her grasp. "She's a beautiful horse." I say mater of factly. "what's her name?" Alley smiles as we walk to the horses stall.
"Starling." I smile
"That suits her."
"Thanks." I don't know why but this is awkward. I kick the sawdust on the floor while alley locks yr stall door to starlings stall
"So are you in the riding team? I just joined." Alley nods
"Yeah. ohhhh!" She says jumping up and down. I make a face at her an she laughs "show me your horse?" I laugh with her
"Yeah sure"
