The congratulations are finished with big bowls of Vanilla ice cream. Daniel kisses me on the cheek before leaving and for a split second everything feels perfect. while drying the dishes, my mom clears her throat.
"I have some big news to tell you but I will wait till tomorrow to tell you." Since she can't see me I frown. I want her to tell me now, but I just shrug.
"Um..okay" I jump when her hand rests on my shoulder.
"I can finish the dishes." I look at her for a long time. something's got her in a good mood, but I don't reject her offering to do my chore. I nod and walk upstairs to my room. what if the news bad?! The thoughts zoom through my mind now that I can think, until I fall asleep at 12:53 pm. I wake up with a start. one thing is set in my mind today. whatever my moms going to tell me.
