Powerless

"You're the only who makes me powerless tonight"

"Babe." I shouted while shaking awsten awake.
"Hm?" He said his tone slightly annoyed.
"Its storming really bad. There's a tornado warning." I said.
Awsten sat up and pulled me onto the bed with him.
My phone slipped from hand and landed on the ground with a thud. The flashlight illuminated the room.
"A. What are you doing?" I said his grip tightened.
"If we're gonna die we're gonna die fucking comfortable." He mumbled.
"Very funny." I said getting out of his grip.
"Y/n." He wined.

I picked up my phone.
"Come on." I said waiting for his ass to get up.
"Fine. I'm bringing a pillow." He said standing up. I grabbed his hand.
We went into the bathroom bc it's the only room without a window.
We laid in the bath tub.

Awsten rested his head against the pillow and wrapped his arms around me.
He fell asleep and watched the news to make sure we weren't gonna get hit with a tornado.
Eventually the storm passed.
It was now about 3 in the morning.
Sleepy awsten was passed out clinging onto me for dear life.
His rainbow  hair was messy but still covering his eyes.
I snuggled up next to awsten and shut my eyes.

Awsten shook me awake.
"Huh?" I said rubbing my eyes.
"Time to wake up. The power is out." He said.
"Great." I mumbled as I lifted my hand for him to help me up.
Instead awsten Leaned down and picked me up.
He carried me bridal style.
He looked down at me and a huge smile spread across his face.

"Why did you decide to carry me?" I asked.
"Because it's dark and I know you're a dumb ass who falls over everything." He said sitting me down once we got to the living room.

"Rude but true" I said crossing my arms.
"I'm always right. " he said before plopping down onto the couch.
I sat down next to him and scrolled through the news.
"Apparently almost everyone in town is out of power." Awsten said.
"Wonderful. We should of bought that generator when we had the chance." I added.
"Agreed."

I scrolled through TikTok waiting for the power to turn on.
At this rate I didn't think it ever would.
Awsten walked out of the living room.
A few minutes later he came back holding his guitar.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking at my bright haired boy friend.
"Playing. ." He said sitting down next to me.
I watched as awsten played the guitar with full attention.
Hs started playing a song.
"New song for the album?" I asked.
"Yep." He said humming a melody.
I smiled.
"I think I'm gonna call it fruit roll ups." He said quickly followed by a don't laugh at it.
"I wasn't going too. But I like it. The melody is nice." I stated smiling at him.

He looked up at me and smiled.
"Good." Then he kissed me.

"What are we gonna do for the rest of the day?" I asked setting my phone down.
"Can we make a fort?" Awsten asked.
"Sure. I don't see why we couldn't." I smiled.
Awsten looked at me like a little kid excited to open presents on Christmas.

Ten minutes into making the fort I quickly grabbed an extra pillow and threw it at awsten.
Awsten was trying to make the blanket, or roof of the fort, stable.
The small blue pillow hit awsten on the head.
He turned around and looked at me confused.
"What was that for, bitch." He said annoyed.
He stayed annoyed for a few seconds before we both started laughing.

Once the fort was built, we crawled inside and snuggled up together. It was warm and cozy inside the fort, and I felt so happy to be there with Awsten. We talked about everything and anything, and as the hours passed, we started to feel sleepy.

"I'll check to see when the power will be on." Awsten said unlocking his phone.

"It won't be on for the next few days." He said.
"That's okay. We can just do this again ." I replied while smiling.

"Sounds great." He said quickly pecking my lips.

"Me too," he replied. "I always have fun with you."

I smiled and snuggled up next to him closing my eyes.
