"What is taking them so long?" I say, getting impatient. "They should be here by now." Bella and Edward are late, as usual. The entire living room is decorated from floor to ceiling. Presents are all over the table, the cake sitting in the middle of the presents. Finally, we hear a car door close. "Hide everyone!" I say, as they softly laugh at me. The door finally opens and in walks Bella and Edward. She is wearing the dress Alice, and I picked out. I knew it would look great on her.
"Surprise!!" We scream, jumping out from our various positions. Bella jumps back a little, not expecting us to be hiding. She looks at everyone, smiling at them, and then her eyes fall on me. Her smile brightens. I run over to her when she sees me.
"Happy birthday, Bella!" I throw my arms around her, pulling her in for a tight hug. She hugs back. "I missed you," I say.
"I missed you too, sis. The house is so boring without you. No offense to Dad and Anna." We both laugh at that. I understand what she means. The house could be quite boring before she moved in.
Everyone else comes up and hugs Bella, wishing her a happy birthday. I gave Rosalie a look, and she walked up to Bella and told her a happy birthday. Progress people, we are making progress.
"Present time!" Alice excitingly says. She runs over and grabs a few, pulling Rosalie along with her.
"This one is from Rosalie," Alice says, giving the box to Rosalie. Rosalie looks at her, handing the box to Bella.
"It's a necklace. Netta and Alice picked it out." Rosalie says to Bella, sounding annoyed. Oh, Rosalie, this attitude will soon have to end.
"This one is from Emmett." Bella shakes the box, looking confused because there is nothing in it.
"Already installed it in your truck. Finally, a decent sound system for that piece of –" Emmett starts.
"Hey, don't hate the truck," Bella responds, chuckling. Alice hands her another gift. A smaller one. An envelope. Oh, this will be a good one.
"Open Esme and Carlisle's."
"Just a little something to brighten your day," Carlise says.
"You've been looking kinda pale lately." Esme chimes in.
Bella goes to open the envelope. Having a hard time, as usual. Sometimes she is not the best at hand-eye coordination. Suddenly, she hisses, holding up her finger.
"Paper cut." She says, a drop of blood hitting the ground. The room went still. Everyone heard something I didn't. They turned around, looking behind me. I turn around, too, confused as to what is going on. That's when I see it. Jasper's eyes turn black. He doesn't look like himself. He starts to move when suddenly, I am pushed out of the way. I go flying, hitting the table, cake falling on me. Then all hell breaks loose.
