"You swear you're okay?" Jasper asks, one of his hands leaving the wheel and holding one of mine.

"I promise, baby." I smile at him. He gives me a look and decides to let it go.

"What would you like to do tonight to celebrate our victory?"

"I kinda just want to have a night at home alone." I want to be able to tell him by ourselves, with no outside pressure.

"Alright, darling. Whatever you want."

"Oh, and you're cooking for me," I tell him. He is better at it than me.

"Yes, ma'am."

The night goes on quite peacefully, something we both deserved. Jasper ends up making me my favorite dinner. We are now snuggled up on our comfy couch. The soft glow of the TV illuminated our living room, creating a warm ambiance as we watched one of our favorite romantic comedies. Jasper's arm was wrapped around me, his fingers gently playing with the ends of my hair.

As the movie reaches its climax, I turn my head to look at him, my hazel eyes meeting his amber gaze. I smile, feeling an overwhelming sense of love and contentment. We have been through so much together, and tonight felt like the perfect time to share some exciting news. I'm nervous but excited. I know Jasper is going to be happy, once he gets over the initial shock.

"Jasper," I whisper, my voice slightly shaky from the emotions inside me. "I have something to tell you."

He turns his attention away from the screen, his eyes searching my face. "What is it, darling?" His voice was warm and soft, full of concern and adoration.

"I-I..."

"Is something wrong?" He asks.

"No. Nothing is wrong." I smile at him, grabbing his hand and placing it on my baby bump. "Everything is amazing."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm pregnant."

"What?" He stops for a moment, looking into my eyes for any sign of a cruel joke. "It's not possible."

"Well, it is. Because I am definitely pregnant."

"H-How do you know?"

"Listen." I pull up my shirt, showing off the bump. His eyes fall on it and his jaw drops. He pauses for a moment, focusing his hearing on my stomach. Then I see it in his eyes. The moment the sound reaches his ears.

Jasper's eyes widened, and for a moment, he was frozen in place. I can see the fear and hope battling in his expression. Then, without a word, he pulls me into a tight embrace, his arms trembling slightly.

"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice muffled against his chest. "I know it's a lot to take in, especially after what happened last time."

He pulled back slightly, his fingers gently caressing my cheek. "I'm in shock, Janetta. But I'm also extremely happy. We're having a baby, a little piece of you and me." His voice cracks at the end of his sentence.

I cup his face in my hands, tears falling down my cheeks. "I'm extremely happy too. I cried for five minutes straight after hearing the heartbeat for the first time, especially after listening to our first baby's heartbeat in the mind of that doctor. The sound was for real this time."

"You heard her heartbeat?"

"I didn't tell you that?"

"No, you didn't."

"It was a beautiful heartbeat. I've thought about it every now and then over the years. And this baby also has a beautiful heartbeat."

"How is this even possible?" He asks.
