I could feel myself trying to fight it, but it was no use. No matter what I do, I cannot fight the siphoning. I had to count to a thousand until I could calm my mind down enough to stop fighting it.

I can hear voices enveloping me: some familiar and some not. I think I hear Anna's and my dad's voices. I can hear the beeps of a heart monitor. Shit. I'm in the hospital. I do my best to try and wake up, but it's no use. My body is too tired. I just lay there and listen to the voices around me.

"—just needs her rest, Charlie."

"Something is wrong with her, Anna. This isn't the first time she has fainted randomly."

"Last time she did was over two years ago. Its exhaustion, baby."

"I just have a bad feeling something is wrong with her." I can hear the pain in his voice.

"Look, you have to get back to work. I will stay here with her until she wakes up. I will call you when she does. The doctor said she would be unconscious for a while." Thank you, Anna. He doesn't need to be here right now.

"Okay. You call the second she wakes up." Dad said, surrendering. There is nothing he can do right now. I can hear the sounds of his footsteps softening and then disappearing.

"Come on, Netta, I know you can hear me. Please wake up. I'm worried about you." I feel her move some hair off my face. It takes me maybe twenty minutes, but I finally build up the strength to open my eyes.

I turn my head slowly and see Anna holding my hand and her head down. It looks like she is praying. I have never seen her pray before.

"A-Anna?" I choke out. Her head snaps up at the sound of my voice, and I can see the relief wash over her eyes.

"Oh, Netta!" She stands up and hugs me. "You scared me so much."

"W-What happened?"

"You fainted during first period. Who did you touch?"

"I can't remember. All I can remember is talking about Pride and Prejudice, and then it all goes black."

"It should come back to you. Your body is still recovering."

"I'm so tired. When can I go home?" I weakly asked.

"Let me get the doctor and have him check you out." She walks out of the room and is gone for a few minutes. I try to relax my body, but it feels on edge. My mind feels like it is running a mile a minute.

The door opens, and in walks Anna and, who I am assuming, is the doctor.

"Hello Janetta, I'm Dr. Cullen." He gives me a warm smile. Something about him is very familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

"Hello."

"I am going to call your father, Netta," Anna says and steps outside, keeping an eye on me the whole time, though, as if I could break in an instant.

"Well, Ms. Swan, you scared many people this morning. You seemed to hit your head pretty hard. Your scans seemed good, nothing out of the ordinary." He pauses and has my eyes follow a light around. "You may develop a bump on your head, but put ice on it and take it easy for the rest of the day."

"Okay," I mumble. I am not in the mood to talk at all. I just need to go home and sleep it off. Luckily, Anna walks back in, holding the phone out for me. I grab it and hold it up to my ear. I internally groan.

"Hi, daddy."

"Hi, sweetie. How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay. Just tired."
