Jasper and I are on our way to a clearing that is a halfway point between the Cullen's territory and the Quileute territory. Today is the first day of fight training for the upcoming, unavoidable battle with the newborn army. I have my own theories about this "army". I think it has to do with Victoria and her vendetta against the Cullens, but unfortunately, like Alice, I am unable to see Victoria's future. That bitch.

"I really don't see a point to this training, when I can easily take them down by myself," I mention for probably the thousandth time.

"Out of the question. Your safety matters too, not just Bella's." Jasper replies, with a slight edge to his voice.

"But if I can prevent any one of us getting hurt, I have to."

"We have to be very careful as to not raise suspicion for the Volturi."

"What do you mean?"

"Janetta, you are probably one of, if not the, most powerful vampire on the planet right now. They will do anything, and I mean anything, to add more power to their clan. If they were to find out about it, they would never stop until they either got you or killed you."

"Oh, but still, I can be of some help."

"You will be. From the safety of our home, keeping Bella there." I roll my eyes.

"Of course, because my sister is the dumbass that can't keep herself alive," I reply a soft chuckle following my words. Jasper also softly chuckles.

"This is also my way of keeping you safe, even though I know you can protect yourself." I grab his hand softly and watch as the trees pass by the car window.

As we pull into the clearing, everyone else is already there. I do enjoy being fashionably late. Jasper puts the car in park and is already at my door, opening it for me and offering me his hand. We walk towards the family, just in time for the wolf pack to grace us with their presence.

"They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms," Edward says, reading their minds.

"They came. That's what matters." Carlisle responds. He looks between Edward and I, "Will you two translate?"

I stick to my promise of not looking at Edward and stare at Carlisle instead. I nod once, looking down at the ground.

You will do all the translating. I say to Edward in our minds. I can feel his stare and his singular nod back.

Carlisle steps to the middle of the clearing, and Jasper pulls away from me to follow him. Alice comes and stands next to me in his place.

"Welcome. Thank you for agreeing to meet." Carlisle starts, looking between each wolf. "Jasper has experience with newborns. He will be able to teach us how to defeat them."

"They want to know how the newborns differ from us." Edward translates.

"They are a lot stronger than us because their human blood still lingers in their tissues. Our kind is at our more physically powerful than in the first few months of our lives." Carlisle answers. Jasper steps up this time, staring the wolves down.

"Carlisle is right. That is why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need as many as a human army, but no human army could defeat them." Jasper starts, walking back and forth while speaking. "Now there are two important things to remember. First, never let them get their arms around you. They will crush you in an instant, without a second thought. Second, never go for the obvious kill. They will be expecting that. And we will lose." He finishes his little speech.

He has the Cullens break off into pairs to demonstrate fighting patterns and tricks. Emmett and Jasper go against each other. Of course, Jasper won that one because Emmett lost his focus. Then it was Edward and Carlisle. At first, it looked like Edward won the battle, but Carlisle tackled him down to the ground in the last second. Jasper said it was because Edward 'turned his back on his enemy'. I snickered inside at that comment. The other members of the family go head-to-head with Jasper, and they all lose one by one.

Then it was my turn. Jasper told me, out loud, to not hold back. He knows me too well to know I would never hold back. Jasper and I charge towards each other and before he can reach me, he's up in the air. Instantly, I can hear the growls from the wolves begin. Reading their minds, they are pissed but also slightly scared of me. Good, it'll keep them away from me. I playfully throw Jasper around in the air, like I always do when I'm being a show-off, and then lightly place him on the ground. I think our little match is over when he suddenly rushes me and gets right in my face. He grabs my neck and pulls me in for a small kiss. The kiss ended just as fast as it started, you know, trying to be respectful of everyone around us.

Everyone switches around pairs to fight each other. It goes on for another hour or so. Once training ends, Bella goes up and asks Jasper a question. I don't listen to their conversation, because I'm too focused on him. Watching Jasper in his element today was honestly hot. His muscles flex a certain type of way when he punches or kicks. Got me feeling a certain type of way. You know, in that special area down south.

Wow Janetta, chill the fuck out. Our fucking family is around us.

Once I snap out of my sex-crazed daze, I focus on what is being said between Jasper and Bella.

"I thought what Maria and I had was love. But I was her puppet." Jasper says. Oh shit, he was telling her the Maria story. I start to walk over to them, he looks up and smiles at me. "It wasn't until meeting your sister did I realize what real love is."

I can feel my face getting hot, blushing like a mad-woman. "Took you long enough to finally ask me out."

"My apologies, ma'am." He smiles at me, leaning down to my lips. "I don't know who I'd be without you." He finishes his sentence off with a kiss, and boy do those damn butterflies start fluttering in my stomach again.

"Let's go home," I whisper against his lips. He nods and pulls away, leading me to the car and on our way home.
