New Moon: Chapter Fifty-Two

The next two weeks were spent bringing my powers to the surface and strengthening them. Some of my powers have been able to evolve. For example, my mind reading power. I worked on it, and now  I can also manipulate minds. Like removing or adding thoughts and memories. It's pretty wild. Also, I was able to develop and work on my newest power. With Tati's help, I can start and stop fires.

While doing this, I also have worked on my vampire side. I am very well-controlled. Tati said she has never seen a vampire more in control of their vampire side than me. She thinks it's due to my powers and how in control of them I am. One cool thing about me being a vampire is that I don't have those weird ass golden eyes. I have bright green ones! The hazel has shifted to green and feeding makes them brighter.

A downside to the vampire side is the animal blood. Although I hate it, I need it to sustain myself. I've been thinking of ways around the human blood and feeding on them and not killing them. No progress has been made in that department as of now. I'm currently still going through all possibilities.

We just got back from hunting and we are cleaning ourselves up. Suddenly, I feel a headache coming on.

"Tati!" I shout. She's here in a second.

"What's wrong?" She grabs me and helps me sit on my bed. 

"I'm getting a headache. I'm about to have a vision." Suddenly, everything goes black. A vision. A strong one. I can focus on it immediately. Oh fuck.

It's Bella. Jumping from a cliff. What the actual fuck is she thinking? Before I can freak out even more than I already am, I see Jacob going and saving her. Ugh, thank god. His obsession with her has finally come in handy.

"What is it, Janetta?" Her concern is growing with every moment.

"It's Bella. I have to go back to Forks." I grab a bag and pack a few items I have collected over the past two weeks. You know, clothes and things of that nature.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Tati hesitates. 

"I don't care. Bella just tried to kill herself and will be home soon." I go to run out the door but stop and turn around. "Come with me, Tati."

"I don't know if that is a good idea. What if I lose control? I haven't been around humans in quite some time."

"I'll be there the whole time. I will not let anything happen."

"Okay." She is still very nervous, but she still goes to her room to grab a bag as well. We run as fast as we can and are in Forks in rapid time. We stop at the edge of the woods right behind my house. I can hear Bella and Jacob. A third voice is also there. It's a light, beautiful voice. A voice I haven't heard in many months. Alice.

I still have my key, and I use it. I open the door and run in, just in time to hear Alice say, "Well, I'm not going to hurt her."

"Already did," I say, making my presence known. Everyone turns to me and jaws drop. Bella runs over to me and throws her arms around me.

"Netta! Oh my god, you're here." I hug her back. She stiffens and backs away a bit. "Why are you so cold?" She looks me over, every part of me. "Your eyes! They are so bright." Her mind is racing. She's going through the last few moments she had with me. She stops at the memory of Laurent's burning red eyes. "Laurent. He turned you, didn't he?" I look away from her and lock eyes with Alice. Her eyes are still wide.

"That's why I couldn't see you when I saw Bella jumping," Alice says softly, feeling very confused.

I look back at Bella. "Yes, he did. That's why I said I needed to stay away for a while."

"You could've told me."

"I know, but I had, literally, just woken up when I texted you. I was still trying to figure everything out." The phone rings and Jacob steps away to answer it.

"I thought you died," Alice whispers, so quietly that Bella doesn't hear.

"I did die," I whisper back. She looks up at me.

"Who is this?" Bella asks, pointing at Tati.

"This is Tati. She was in the area when she heard Laurent attack me. She ripped him off of me and killed him. She took me back to her cabin and cared for me while I was transitioning. She has helped me learn to control myself."

"Thank you so much, Tati," Bella says.

Jacob walks back into the room, anger radiating off of him. "Fucking bloodsucker."

"What happened?" Bella asks.

"Always getting in the way." He says.

"Who was that?" Bella asks hesitantly. Before he responds, Alice and I gasp, a vision clouding our minds. Edward. Jasper. Italy. Volturi. Shirts off, stepping into the sun.

I snap out of it and stand there. Motionless. No, no, no, no, no. This isn't happening.

Alice snaps out of it and runs to Bella. "Bella, it's Edward." She shifts her gaze to me. "And Jasper."

"What? What is it?" Bella questions, sounding like she's going to cry.

"They think you two are dead. Rosalie must've told them why I came here."

"Why didn't you let me speak to him?" Bella screams at Jacob, getting in his face. It took Alice and I to be able to pull her back. Bella whips around and looks at Alice. "What did you tell Rosalie?"

"I told her that I saw you jumping off a cliff and that I couldn't see Janetta anymore, suggesting that she was already dead."

"Janetta? Talk to me." Tati shakes me, trying to get me to snap out of it. 

All my emotions hit me and I scream and drop to the ground. Everyone rushes to me. All my feelings about Jasper flood my mind. I still love him. I finally let myself admit that to myself. I could never not love him. But he doesn't love me. Why does he care if I'm dead?

"Netta, you're crying," Bella says, shocked.

"What?" It's at this moment that I realize I'm sniffling and my face is wet with tears. "That's impossible."

"Nothing is impossible when it comes to you, honey," Tati says.

"We have to go," Alice says. "Now. If we are going to be able to stop them."

I stand up and wipe away my tears. "You're right." Bella ran upstairs to pack a bag and grab our passports, thank god she knew where mine was. I walk out the door, with Bella, Tati, and Alice following. Jacob runs out and starts arguing with Bella. God, he's so fucking annoying. Always has been.

"Jacob, we don't have fucking time for this," I yell at him. He glares at me, hard. If looks could kill, I'd be dead. But I don't give a flying fuck. My gaze shifts to Bella. "Let's go, Bella." She mumbles 'sorry' to him and gets in the car with us.
