The party is going great so far. Jasper and I were roped into making sure the snack and drink tables were consistently stocked and that the music wasn't becoming "too boring". Alice's words, not mine. Everyone in Bella's graduating class is amazed by the Cullen's 'secret' house. Their amazement is keeping them from acting up, which I have no problem fixing if the situation arises.

"Thank you both for tonight. It's amazing." Bella thanks Jasper and I, Edward by her side.

"Of course, Bella boo." She rolls her eyes at my childhood nickname for her. "I want tonight to be great for you. You earned it after this past year." My eyes involuntarily flicker up to meet Edward's.

"T-Thank you, Netta," Bella says softly, grabbing Edward's hand to walk away.

"Janetta," Edward says my name. I internally roll my eyes.

"Yes?" I reply.

"May I talk to you for a moment?" I'm about to say no, but then I look at Bella. She is a bundle of hopeful nerves. I need to do this. For me and Bella.

"Sure." I turn and walk outside, knowing he will follow me. Once we are outside by the tree line, I turn and look at him. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Us." He replies.

"What ever do you mean, Eddy boy?"

"We used to be best friends, Janetta."

"Yeah, we were. And now we're not. Who's fault is that?" His eyes flash with guilt. At least he isn't faking anything.

"Mine. I know it is. I will never forgive myself for what I did."

"And what do you think you did?"

"I made us leave. I put us in a situation where we could've gotten killed."

"There's more. You must know that."

"Yes, there is."

"Say it."

"I-I—" He starts to stutter.

"I will save you the trouble of trying to find something to say, and I will say it." I take a deep breath. "Well, first off, you broke my leg. Pushing me into the table. You pushed Bella with less force, like damn. I get it, she was your girlfriend, but you didn't have to go rougher on me. I was in physical therapy for months trying to fix what you broke. But I did it."

"I'm so s—"

"I'm speaking." I snap. He shuts his mouth. "Then, you make my boyfriend, the love of my life, leave me. I read his mind and saw exactly what you said to convince him to leave. Low blows. That alone makes you a horrible, selfish person. But then you also left Bella too. I woke up in my hospital room, with only Bella by my s-side." I start to choke up, not caring if he sees me cry. "We both almost had to be committed because of how much of a hold the two of you had on us, but we made it out. And you have the audacity to be mad when Bella goes off and hangs out with Jacob. I strongly dislike the guy, but I don't let Bella know that. He is what got her through that dark period. You don't get a say in what goes on with Bella and Jacob because they have a bond that isn't going away. She loves you and would never leave you for that dog. So stop being a piece of shit boyfriend and let her hang out with her best friend."

"You're right. About all of it."

"There's one more thing."

"Okay." He says, not breaking eye contact, ready to take more of my anger.

"You are the reason I'm a vampire." A tear rolls down my cheek.

His eyes widen, "W-What?" He sounds like he needs clarification.

"Laurant was there to kill you, not me. Then his focus shifted to Bella. I sacrificed myself for Bella when he was ready to kill her. He snatched me up and ran until he lost the wolves. He threw me on the ground and bit me, wasting no time. If it hadn't been for Tati, I would be dead-dead because he would've fed until there was nothing left in me." More tears follow the initial one. "I'm dead. Because of YOU!" I scream. I can feel myself heating up, meaning fire is not that far behind. I need to control myself before I set fire everywhere.

"Do you understand that?" I ask him, sobbing.

"Y-Yes." He reaches out as if to hug me.

"I hate you. Every time I look at you, I'm reminded that I'm dead. I won't grow old. My chances of having a child went from 1% to 0%. I know that is basically the same thing, but I could've found a way. No, I would've found a way. So no, we aren't friends. We will be in-laws, and that is it. I will do everything I can to not look at you."

I turn and walk back to the house, tears flowing down my cheeks. Jasper is at the door, glaring at Edward. His gaze shifts to me, and he opens his arms for me. I run into them and he holds me tight. This is where I feel safe. This is where I'm meant to be.

"I'm so sorry, darling." He whispers in my ear, rubbing my back. I sniffle and look up at him. I give him a small kiss and pull away. He lightly puts his arm around my waist and leads us to where Alice and Bella are talking. I focus on what is being said.

"You're not going to Seattle, are you?" Bella asks.

"No. They're coming here." Alice says. Well fucking great.
